Anyone use points for GF Concierge? Or any other Disney non-dvc resort?

We are going to DIsney for two nights next month (8/13-15) andwere unable to get our home resort at BCV for either night, so now we are staying the first night at GF Concierge and the second night at OKW 2Bedroom. I am so excited:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I was wondering if anyone out there had used their points for GF Concierge and if so, were you in the Main Building or the Sugar Loaf. Also what type of room did you get.

Does anyone out there who uses points at disney resorts (non-DVC) make room requests? If so do you do it through member services or through the resort itself? And are you treated any differently?

We will be using points for future for stays at the Poly.
I must get at least a few nights there each year, otherwise I will have major withdrawal convulsions.
We will be doing three Concierge nights there in Jan/Feb.
I believe the cost is almost "a wash" between points and cash, at least the way I figure it.

Have Fun!

We just returned from a trip to the GF concierge on points. You will be in the main building, but in just a regular room. Your room will be the same as a standard room at the GF. I wish you a wonderful stay at the GF!!!!

The Main Building!!! I am soooo excited!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Did I mention that?

My new question is where do you check in for Concierge in the Main Building, I read it was on the third floor, but how do you get there? Or do you stop at the main desk first? Thanks for the responces!

We stayed in the main building for about 2 weeks in May (not on points). We were met at the door of our car when we pulled up to the hotel by a CM from the RPC. They gave us a number to call from the car to tell them that we were on our way. I remember the valet opening the door, and the RPC CM stepping forward and greeting us by name! Then we were escorted up to the RPC and the check-in process took place on the third floor. The CM then took us to our room, and toured it with us and described all of the services available to us in concierge. What a treat!

By the way, our room was a concierge deluxe room, and the it was wonderful! It was big and had a great balcony. We could see from the CR to the monorail station at the GF. Nightly we watched the fireworks at Epcot, the luau at the Poly, and we saw many weddings at the GF! We even viewed Fantasmic! The nightly water parade was right out our window (from the Poly). Ugh! Now I want to go back!

I hope you have a great stay! Let me know if I can help!

What MJS told you is correct. We weren't given a number, but when we arrived at the security kiosk at the GF, we did hear them call RPC and tell them what color car we were driving. We were met at the valet stop by a CM from RPC and were escorted upstairs to the 3rd floor to check in.

We stayed at the GF in a Lagoon View room (not concierge) last month. We didn't get all the bells and whistles like everyone else has mentioned when we checked in....but our view was spectacular. We could see Cinderella's castle and we watched the water parade from our balcony. It was by far one of our best trips to WDW ever.
Everything at the GF is first class. The CMs are always on their toes and you are treated like kings and queens as soon as you arrive. Citrico's is a MUST. The food is amazing.

Enjoy!
