Anyone use Pal Mickey

My son is 17 and is getting one. He is also a disney fanatic. We are staying at the Swan. Can you get one of the new ones in their gift shop or the Dolphin gift shop? We will be there one week. Do the batteries last that long. If not, what kind of batteries does it take. Thanks

I ordered a Pal Mickey a few days ago. The VERY friendly CM told me he uses AA, and implied that buying stock in those batteries would be an excellent thing! I have little kids, and have already done so!

This is not a problem when you walk thru the gates they pickup the new information thru the computer chip in their nose. (Thus do not get him wet)

Pal Mickey is great, got him last week 2 minutes after entering the park. Great hint, go to the Pal Mickey site and play the Pal Mickey game. You then get a certificate for a free Pal Mickey Pin, and your Pal Mickey with be scanned to say in more fun facts, stories and jokes then the other Mickeys without this certificate.

The best part was when we were plummeting down the Tower of Terror Mickey broke into song of the Mickey Mouse Club March M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. Me screaming and him singing!!!!!

Best advice if you do get one is: 1. bring a small plastic bag to put him in to protect him from rainstorms and 2. try not to wear him (if using the lanyard) directly around your neck for long. I did that for 3 days in a row, and by that time my neck felt like it was gonna break, yowch.

I agree, I kept the bag they gave me when I purchased him in my backpack just to keep him dry during the sudden rain storms. Told them to keep the box all I wanted was his book, lanyard, special pin and Mickey.

Yes if you do not wear the lanyard properly it is a strain on your neck the secret is to wear it across your chest. You put it over your head and pull one arm thru that way it sits at your hip. You can feel him vibrate and hear his giggle then I just bring him closer to hear him when I press his hand or tummy. Never had a problem with his weight that way, in fact barely noticed it.

Has anyone used their Pal Mickey at Christmas Time? Does he get updated specifically with the holiday information (Christmas shows, parades, etc) and does he have anything to say during MVMCP?! I really want to get one on this trip, but if he isn't really configured for the holidays it won't be worth it just yet.

I'm sure this is a silly question..... I'm almost 100% sure Disney has him set (especially the new version) to be perfect all the time, but I just want to hear from someone who has ACTUALLY carried it around (or seen him in action) during this time of year.

Hold off purchasing your Pal Mickey if you have this certificate only two locations have the enhancement when you purchase your Pal Mickey and Pin in WDW. One of which is the Main Street Cimena which is where I got mine. See note on certificate. But definately worth it.

I just played and printed out the certificate but I was hoping to buy BEFORE I got there AND it is only good until 9/30/05. Won't help me as we don't arrive until 10/3. Oh Well, I guess I miss out on the free pin.

I am still planning on getting one off e-bay or another discount place.

This is great! I am shopping at DTD while my dh and ds take in a water park. I will purchase special edition Pal Mickey, and that will be my ds's souvenir for day one, without him even entering a park!

I don't have my certificate in hand, but I believe that you can play the game until 9/30/05 and get your Pal Mickey anytime up to a year later.
I will get the certificate in a little while and repost if this is not the case.
