Anyone use a portable ramp with their dog?

My dog is at the point where he can't get into/out of our van. We have a few other smaller cars but they are only good for quick trips to the vet. Years ago my neighbor put a ramp on our three steps in the yard after my dog had surgery. The ramp is still there and he uses it out of habit. I saw that Petsmart sells portable ramps that you could use for a car/van. Curious if anyone has experience with this? My lab is super food motivated so I think we could bribe him that way.

I had one for my Saint before she passed. It was kinda big and bulky. It definitely worked, but she never liked it

@mamamary: To clarify....

• if your dog is unable to hop into the van... can (s)he use stairs? Would a collapsible step stool be possible?

• ramps come in different sizes. Does it need to be a long low-slope wheelchair ramp? There's small pet ramps.
