Anyone try refurbished print cartridges?

They are so much cheaper when I'm looking online but I wasn't sure if they work?

My experience has been that they work okay -- but just okay. I have tried several different sellers, and the results have been about the same - you're going to occasionally get a cartridge that leaks; and the print quality, length of use, etc. is going to be slightly less. In my opinion, they do not work as well as cartridges bought from the manufacturer, but the significant savings make it worth the loss in quality.

I've used them with an old HP and with my newer Canon. Towards the end of the HP's life it got glitchy, though. Kept reading it as having no ink, though it was brand new (and had been full of ink the day before).

We got the HP used so I don't know what the quality was like with "real" cartridges, but with the Canon I see no difference.

Just be careful if your printer is new to read your warranty. On some printers the warranty and or service contract is voided if you use a re-manufactured print cartridge - especially the laser printers.

I have, but I've found I can do better watching for deals on new cartridges because the re-manufactured ones don't last as long. Plus with new I don't worry about the occasional leaky cartridge or print quality issue.

We have a Cartridge World in our area that we use for all of our printers. We've never had a problem. We drop off the empty one and they give us one that they've filled.

The cost is MUCH less than buying new.

YEs and I hate them - do not get the same print quantity - as in they do not last as long and to me the savings is not worth it - we go through tons of them at the office and I have tired them all and just not worth it in my mind.

At our work - we use "re-mans' unless there is an HP with no remans. There is no difference in the failure rate of the remans than the HP branded cartridges.

DH prefers HP-branded ink cartridges, and as a PP mentioned, we really watch out for deals.

As some others mentioned if you use a re-manufactured cartridge it will void your printers warranty , while they may be cheaper there is less ink in them than the orginial, the quality isn't typically as good and they can leak or clog up where the ink comes through to print on the paper.

I haven't had any problem. I use a Brother printer and got a real good deal on ink on ebay.

I've had the same experience. I don't like paying the manufacturer's price, but in the end, it's less expensive because I know the cartridges will work.

I have had very good luck with the remanufactured cartridges and find they produce nearly the same number of copies, perhaps a few less but worth the money.
