Aloha!

I am SOOOO tired of yo-yo-ing! I need LO-CARB but even that isn't working now that I'm taking HRT for extreme menopause issues.

Just saw 6 WEEK infomercial but before I plunk down $$$$ (AGAIN!) I was hoping to hear how others have done with it.

I'm not trying to recover my 18 yr old size 3/5 but at 5'0", 155 lbs is NOT HEALTHY (and since taking HRT, I've gained a few more!!!) My body type now??? Well, POOH has nuthin' on me!

Atkins worked GREAT 4 yrs ago, but one trip to WDW and I was off THAT wagon!! (BUT....what way to go!) South Beach won't work for me, I think, cause beans and other 'good' carbs bloat me and trigger cravings for 'bad' carbs!!!!

HELLLLPPPPPP!!!!

Thanks, ~Rose~

Have you considered throwing low carb out the window altogether and trying good ole fashioned calorie counting? With calorie counting, you are not restricted to certain foods, which makes it easier for me.

I've never heard of the program you've mentioned, but personally I wouldn't buy anything from an infomercial.

I have tried this diet and I have to say it does work. However, it is very hard to keep on top of. You have to eat constantly and eat foods together. Some foods are restricted depending on your body type etc. It was hard for me to stay on. I am presently on Nutrisystem and I have to say this is the easiest diet I have been on. I am on "weekends off" so I am not totally on the Nutrisystem food all the time. I have lost about 22 pounds and I am hardly hungry.

I'm doing it!! It is working so well for my husband and I. However, we are not doing its meal plan. After figuring out our metabolism type, and what food we could not eat, we just changed our style of eating. We eat 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks per day. We do cardo 4-5 times a week, and muscle training 2 days a week. Although I haven't updated my sig yet, I have lost 18lbs and my husband has lost 20lbs since Jan 2.

Good luck!

Those are WONDERFUL results! :worship:
Is the excercise hard? I'm typing from my couch if you can believe that!
Seriously, excercise has always been VERY challenging for me. Can 50 +ers do it, or is it designed for young uns'?
And was it hard to figure out your 'type'?
Thanks so much~Rose~

I signed up with Michael's program in LA almost ten years ago when he was just a local trainer out to make beaucoup bucks. For $300, he assigned me a trainer (who I paid separately) and gave me a ridiculous diet that didn't work. I did lose weight only because I was working out so much. He's not a bad guy but I can guarantee you he's only out for the fame and money.

Meanwhile, the only way I've been able to lose weight and keep it off (30+ lbs for over 10 years now) is Weight Watchers. It's worth a try if you haven't done it before and it's not expensive.

Good luck!

Working Out:
I do 30 minutes on my recumbant bike for my cardio (my husband uses his eliptical machine). You just need to keep your heart rate within your fat burning zone (which is much lower then most people think). They include a chart in the book so you can figure out your target heart rate (it is based on age). For the muscle building, the system comes with an elastic workout band that you use for resistance. The different exercises are not difficult however, the more out of shape you are, the more you have to do. (my exercises are always more than the 18minutes they advertise). I average about 30 minutes.

Dieting:
I have done Weight Watchers before and it worked well for me when I did it with Curves (workout). However, both my husband and I wanted to do this together and he refuses to count calories or points so we went with this program. There is a two page questioneer that you fill out to figure out your type of metabolism. We both were type B and we went over what food they said to cut out and what to keep. For example Protein is very important to making our metabolism work. We now eat eggbeaters every morning to help jump start it. We also had to cut our most simple carbs (white bread, pasta, etc...) but we still eat rice and potato! A typical day for me is eggbeaters & a little potato (hash brown style) for breakfast, an apple for my morning snack, some type of lean cuisine for lunch, peanuts or 100% whole grain wheat thins for my afternoon snack, salmon with potatoes and a salad for dinner and maybe 1/2 a whole grain english muffin with a little splenda peanut butter on it for a night snack.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you want!

I di it 3 years ago ( when I had 70 lbs to loose) And I lost 9 lbs in a week. However I stopped that same week because it is very limited to the foods you can eat plus you need to work out with weights :rotfl2:

I actually bought my system at a yard sale for $5 try ebay there are a ton there! :)

I agree its very restrictive. You work out a lot and eat a lot but everything is so planned it just didnt fit well into my lifestyle.

Good luck!
