It looks like it will be a lot of fun. We're booked for our trip in August. If you've been can you give me first hand details. We're having dinner at the Artist Point at 6:30 and we have to be at the Contemporary by 8:30 - will that give us enough time to eat dinner and to get there? Thanks!

Don't Be Late
The Pirates and Pals Cruise was fun... but you could end up being late. They won't wait for you.... Assuming you are seated right at 6:30pm and do not have to wait (possible), a signature meal, for us, averaged 90 minutes and we didn't linger over long conversation because we had DS4 with us. If like us, it will be 8 or 8:30 by the time you are done eating. Plus, you might have to wait for transportation. I suggest having your dinner at 5:30 or just eating dinner at the Contemporary or somewhere else on the MK monorail circle. We had a 5:30 dinner at Citrocos (Grand Floridian) which is a quick monorail trip to the Contemporary.

Arrival
Now for the details... We arrived about 15 minutes before time we were told to arrive for Pirates and Pals. We checked in and received bandannas (very small) and directed to wait in an area where there were a lot of meeting rooms. A large open area was soon opened.

Pre-Voyage
There were LOTS of drinks (coffee, tea, soda, water, etc.) and pre-packaged snacks (chips, pretzels, brownies, nuts, trail mix, etc.) and chocolate candy coins. Capt Hook and Smee were there for photos and autographs. Tip -- as you enter, get your snacks and head to the back of the room to be one of the first to greet Hook and Smee. You are encouraged to be a pack rat and stow away drinks and snacks. We put several items in our day pack to eat later in the week. Another Tip -- empty your bladder before leaving to board the boat (they will actually announce your last opportunity!) because there's no bathrooms on the boats. 2 lines (1 for each boat) will be formed and each will be assigned a cast member in pirate costume who will lead the rest of your experience. One child for each line will carry the flag. Children picked were those in pirate costume.

Voyage
I won't tell all the details because I don't want to spoil the fun.... but there will be a fun boat ride, lots of trivia, Pirate cheering (Arrrgghhhhh!!!), and some token prizes. You will get a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the lighted boat parade. Peter Pan will greet you upon returning to the dock.

Sounds like it'll be great. I'll try and move up our dinner reservations. We're doing this the last night of our trip.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this info! I'm thinking about suggesting it for a client... and maybe for us too!

I am so excited to be doing this too! Thanks for all of the info! It is also our last night at WDW activity and it is a surprise for the kids...I figure it helps if it is a surprise for them in case it gets rained out...nobody gets let down...except me I guess!:lmao:

we went in Dec and it was AWESOME! one of the highlights of the trip. DD went to the Pirates League earlier that day and got the pirate makeover. It was a good time. The lasy at the Pirate's League told us to bring a backpack and take snack home with us.. It was pretty cool. My DH loved it. It was something different to do. I would recommend it!

Thanks so much for all of the tips and the wonderful recap of your voyage. We'll be sure to be in costume and get to the back of the room.

Question: do they have the music piped in for the fireworks show?

And is there a calendar for the electric boat parade somewhere? I am hoping that it happens on the Sunday night that we are going (3/21).

Thanks so much!

Anyone know if the music is pipped in for the fireworks ?

Sounds like great fun ! ! !

That is what we did last year. We had reservations at Artist Point for 6:30 and were doing the Pirates and Pals fireworks. We had to skip dessert and drive over to the Contemporary (thankfully we had the car) and we still missed some of the meet and greet. We had a super quick meet and greet with Hook and Smee, and grabbed what was left of the snacks to bring with us.

The fireworks voyage was great though if I was doing it over again, I would not have had a signature meal first - both experiences ended up being a little rushed. Oh and Artist Point = delish!

I can't remember but I remember hearing the music from the electric light boat parade - we watched it from the beginning, maybe around 9pm, then the fireworks were at 9:30 on a MNSSHP halloween party night. The time that the Pirates and Pals cruise party starts is timed to make sure you are on the water in the boat when the fireworks start.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the great info on P&P!

One question - around what time does it end if the fireworks start at 9pm?

Our Pirates and Pals started at 8:15pm and ended about 2 hours later. We were on the boat by about 9pm? and the fireworks were at 9:30pm. As soon as the fireworks were done, we began our voyage back. The time of Pirates and Pals will depend on when the fireworks are scheduled that night.

Can't remember the cost, somewhere around $150 for 2 adults and 1 child.

I just started looking into doing this for our trip in August. I want it to be a surprise for my son. I'm never been able to keep our trips our anything we do on them a secret from him so I'm hoping once we book, I keep my mouth shut! :lmao: Everything about this sounds so much fun! Just 1 question at the moment, about how many people are on each boat???

Yes they do pipe in the music and voices from wishes. One other thing is that my DS was picked to carry the flag but he wasn't in costume...they actually came out and said, "his name," you have been chosen to carry the flag....I think it was bc when we made the ressie we told them it was his birthday.
