Has anyone stayed at AKL in a value one bedroom villa? What was it like? What sort of a view did you have? I think I heard the value rooms (not DVC) don’t have a view of any kind, Like not even a car park, but I find this hard to believe. I’m wondering what the value deluxe studios would be like then... and then the value one bedrooms? Thanks

Value villas at Jambo House have nothing to do with value hotel rooms (POP and the all stars).

Value villas are about 3 feet shorter than the rest of the Jambo house villas, so you lose some space in the rooms. In the studios, it means 4 people get very cramped very quickly. A 1BR might be fine depending on your expectations.

They are value villas because they are smaller - nothing to do with the views, which can be pool, (sunset) savanna (I think) or parking lot. When booking a value villa, you may not request a view. (Personally, I got savanna view once and parking lot view once.)

There are very few value villas at Jambo house and due to the point cost, they typically are difficult to book...

Go here to see location of value rooms which are the ones along Ostrich and Giraffe Trails, which are at the front part of the building http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5-large.html. Four 1BRs have pool view (actually mostly looking at a roof-like overhang), four have a view of the Sunset savanna (an alcove at the end of the savanna where you actually do see animals), and two have front of the resort/parking lot view (which do not actually have much of the parking lot view but instead see lots of trees and bushes). You cannot request view with the value rooms and thus it is luck of the draw.

Internally, they are basically just a smaller version of the regular 1BRs, except they do not have sleeper chair. They can fairly comfortably hold four (the allowed limit) with most cramping of space being in the kitchen if all four are in there at once -- the kitchen has a center table which makes it more cramped than it should be.
