Anyone think any of these restaurants are terrible?

Of all of those, I've only been to 4 - Sci Fi, Boma, Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon. I like all of them. We had a bad service experience at Boma the first time we went there (REALLY bad service), but we tried it again because the food was so good and got a wonderful server to go with the wonderful food the 2nd time. We weren't wild about the character interaction or the long buffet lines at Crystal Palace, but the food was very good. Sci Fi and Whispering Canyon are FUN. Nothing spectacular about the food (in fact, Sci Fi managed to ruin a turkey sandwich), but a good overall experience. Sci Fi is my kids' favorite restaurant at WDW after Trail's End (which may tell you something about their culinary tastes).

If you are planning to be in the Studios that day, I would consider switching out Sci-Fi for Prime Time Cafe. It was overall a better experience. Sci-Fi seems like it will be cooler than it ends up being. Also, I would rather sandpaper the wrong end of an alligator than choke down that food again.

IF you mean by "terrible" all the antics and noise, then 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon clearly qualify.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I like the SciFi. The atmosphere can't be beat and the food is fine for lunch as long as you stick to simple fare: burgers, ruebens, ribs, onion rings, etc. The milkshakes are excellent.

Personally I prefer it to the Prime Time. The food is okay at Prime Time but along the lines of a cafeteria: pot roast, meat loaf, fried chicken, etc.

Sci Fi is pricey but pretty much all TS restaurants at Disney are.

I'm asking if anyone has had bad experiences at any of these places. Not if they are "any good".

Thanks to all of you who have answered my post!

I totally understand! You have already made the reservations--you don't want to know everything just the bad experiences.

Glad you made reservations at Boma. It's my favorite Disney restaurant; you will not be disappointed. Give Sci Fi a try. Great atmosphere; average food.

Of the restaurants on your list we have been to Sci-Fi, 1900 & Crystal Palace. We enjoyed all 3.

To weigh in on the Sci-Fi. We go there every trip. We like the food (get a milkshake!) and the atmosphere can't be beat. We really enjoy dinner there so much so that we are making it our *special* last meal in WDW before going home.

1900 & Crystal are both wonderful breakfast choices. The service we had at 1900 is memorable. I say that because we were there in 1996 and I still think of it fondly.

Keep in mind that on any given day the service or food could possibly be bad at any given restaurant. That being said, for every bad experience that one person has there are many more people who have very positive experiences. Chalk this up to different tastes or different expectations.
I would recommend keeping the restaurants you selected. Keep a positive attitude and enjoy your meals!!
We have always dined during "free dining". The way we looked at each meal was if it was great we got an incredible deal because it was "free". If the experience was less than what we expected we were just grateful we didn't pay OOP. Our only experience I would classify as "bad" was really slow service at Coral Reef, but the food was good.
I realize it is a different experience when you pay OOP and have terrible service or food.

The only two I can comment on are the Princess Storybook breakfast in Norway and the Crystal Palace Breakfast. We didn't have bad experiences at either.

Crystal Palace: Took a long time for the characters to get around, we felt like we were there forever. At times the buffet line was long, but the food was good. We had a great table & great server. I was nervous about this one. I made this ADR the week before, and I could only get 2 tables of 2 for our family of 4. The CM told me to ask to have the two tables put together but it was not guaranteed. When we got there it was absolutely no problem - we were even seated at a table for 5.

Princess Storybook: Wasn't thrilled with the buffet, but the hot plate was good. My 3-year old didn't like anything - she's very picky! But we were mainly there to meet the princesses. Meeting with Belle for the picture was nice. Aurora & Snow White did not seem rushed when they came to our table, but Jasmine & Mulan were definitely rushing through the tables. They still stopped for a picture, but you could tell they felt the need to rush to make sure they saw everybody. A bonus when we left the restaurant was that Mary Poppins was outside.
