Anyone stockpiling food?

I am a Jonas Brothers fan and noticed their Vegas residency is selling pretty poorly. Not sure if that's a reflection on demand at the location (their tour shows sold out) or the timing (they will be there the first two weeks of April) or both.
It’s hard to tell. It could be the age demographic for them comes to Vegas to party not to go to shows and older folks who do go to shows aren’t interested in the Jonas Brothers. I’ll have to ask my DD as that’s what (Hospitality and Business Management) she does. I’m terrible about knowing what’s going on in my own city. I had no idea they had a residency. 😂

My state just had its 1st confirmed case - 44 year old male. He recently traveled to another state, but the reports aren’t saying which state.

He & his family are being quarantined at home, & his family is being tested.

He’s been sick for 4 days but his doctor just decided to make a report to the local Health Department since his symptoms were suspect. According to reports, when he returned from his out-of-state travel, he wasn’t feeling well, so really hasn’t been out & about that much & has been mostly staying home - but they can’t say exactly how many people w/ which he may have had contact before being officially diagnosed & quarantined,

I wish I had gotten more hand sanitizer & wipes while I had the chance ‘cause now it’s probably going to be crazy-town around here.

Oh, & re vodka... We had a bottle in the freezer, & DH got rid of it to make room for some of my “stockpile”. Vodka gives me a raging migraine & many times will give DH a headache too, so I don’t drink it at all & he only very infrequently.

But now I know I should have been stockpiling vodka too!!!!!

My guess is lack of sunlight but even if I have to stay home, I am still going to at least go outside and sit on the stoop so I don't totally lose my mind.

You can still go for a walk or run or bike ride outside. Even if you are quarantined. You just can't go where there are other people.

I mean, that doesn't exist in some places! More people live on my street than in some whole towns!

Awesome! I've been taking 3000iu daily of vitamin D for 5 years. My doc knows what's up.

You may want to revisit that dose, if what the doc in the youtube vid said was correct. He pointed out that the effectiveness begins to decrease after around 800IU/day. Essentially your body wont convert the ingested D3 into the form that affects your immune system if there is too much of the non-converted version in your body. Up to the point where large doses had zero effect on ARDS.

We live in the same state, but we are East. I was not thrilled to see that but not surprised. TN has not had a good week...

LOL I am not changing anything. I have a vitamin D deficiency, so I have to take it.

For the last week, we have been dealing with a family medical emergency. In Snohomish County, WA. As the family member recovered, DH and I were getting anxious about getting home before any US travel restrictions went into affect. Hospital staff, apparently was overheard yesterday, asking if family member had been tested, since family member had been recently out of the country (family member is not there for flu-like symptoms, nor traveled to a country with an outbreak). If there are going to be any "in an abundance of caution we want you to..." I just wanted to be in my own home.

We flew home yesterday afternoon, and are now 80% stockpiled? I need to go to Target for a few things for the cats, and another trip to the store for the things I forgot in my "you haven't been home for 3 weeks* and you are really, really tired" brain fog. Even though, we don't have any legitimate concerns about being exposed, I do wonder what others would be thinking if they knew we recently traveled to the North Seattle area.

* I was flying home from Orlando, where I had fully exhausted myself with park stuff, when I got the text for family member's condition, and off to the airport 5 hours after I landed.

The main take away is to take it daily or weekly. Higher doses don’t have incremental benefit.

Where did you find that emoji?? 😂

We saw Celine in January and there’s no hand holding during Titanic, or any part of the show, lol. Honestly wish we could see her again. Have a wonderful time!

I found the emoji back in the day when Photobucket was a reliable place for photo sharing & hosting and everyone put their emojis/smileys there. When Photobucket went to being a paid site, the majority of smileys were held hostage and a lot of users abandoned their accounts. So a lot of great emojis were lost forever when that happened. :sad1:

I have slowly been moving the ones I have over to a blog where I can post them again. I'm also thinking about making the blog public so others can find & use the more unusual smileys & emojis. :surfweb:

You can have the emoji if you want. Just right click on it. And click Save Image. It might not move/animate on your computer, until you bring it up on some photo viewer you have. But, it will definitely animate when you post it. It's a "gif" format image.

If you listen at 10:40, and he starts going over the daily doses, a daily dose of greater than 50ug (2000 IU), had no statistical benefit, whereas a daily dose of less than 50ug did, with a dose of under 20ug having the most statistical benefit. (He then states that this indicates a small to moderate daily dose is where you will see benefit). Obviously if the PP is taking higher doses because of a deficiency, then by all means they should be doing so. But it doesn't appear that higher daily doses have a statistical benefit for ARDS, at least in the studies MedCram is reviewing in that video.

Edit- it could be that they were stating no incremental benefit, but that isn't how it sounded to me, and it being a meta-analysis of multiple articles, it should then state that they were incremental changes. The table in question reads as absolute values.

Maybe they will hand out protective gloves at the beginning of the show and have hand sanitizer available as you leave . . .or just send you through an alcohol mist to disinfect.

An alcohol mist sounds great! It might make my hair frizz though. :umbrella:

That's a thought. Could you just dump alcohol into a package of baby wipes???....not for butts, but for cleaning. Or even take the old wipes container, add 1/2 roll paper towels dump in 1/2 cup water, few drops soap and 1/2 bottle of alcohol?

I'm wondering what the tipping point is where the alcohol is strong enough to be antibacterial and too diluted with other ingredients to be effective for that? Our hands might look clean but the germs & bacteria & virus are not killed. That would just give a false sense of safety.

Do you remember how long her concert is? I want to run to Target, across the street, afterward, to see if they have anything left worth buying. :teleport:
