I'm actually a new poster on this board. My name is Megan and I am 18 years old...I know it sounds funny that an 18 yo is posting lol but I've been to DIsney every year since I was 6 and I am absolutely in love with it! I'm going to stay at Polynesian this Spring with my boyfriend. (I've never stayed at a deluxe before and he's never been to disney...so shocking!) Anyway, I was wondering which is the best building to request to be in. We were thinking of requesting a smoke free room facing the lake. Also, do all the rooms have boucanys? Thanks!!

Hi Megan,

It must be very exciting planning you first trip without the parents to Disney World. Part of the choice with Polynesian is dependant on whether you have booked a garden or lagoon view room. Also if you want to see a great site with everything you ever need to know about the Polynesian, go to Tikiman's webite. It proved invaluable in planning my family's trip there last summer.

The Polynesian is a great resort. Besides being on the monorail, it's walking distance to the ferry to the MK if you don't want to take the monorail or for a change of pace. It is very quiet and lush, the restaurants and shows are wonderfull, and they just re-did the pool area. Only thing is, they are still doing some renovations on some of the buildings. Make sure you request a building away from the construction site. You will really enjoy staying there! :)

Which buildings are under renovation? Any info on to when they will be completed? I am calling Disney either today or Monday to reserve Poly for our Jan '05 trip. Thanks.

I'm reasonably sure they will be done by then, because as I recall, they started at the area of the resort that was closest to the TTC and now they are at the building next to luau cove. I'm sure they can provide that info for you when you make your reservations.

mitros,

I was there a few weeks ago and was told by one of the CM's that they are going back through every building because somethings were not done right. He said every building is slated to close again for a month-or-so each. I hope he was wrong!

Yikes! that would s_ _ _ big time! Do you know how long it took them to go through all the buildings the first time? Also, did the CM say it was a major thing where they would have to cover the whole building again, or is it something like they put the wrong faucets in all the bathrooms and just have to go back and replace them?
