Anyone stayed at Comfort Inn Univ. Studios lately?

Was just checking out travelzoo.com and spotted this room for $39/night. I'm flying into MCO late and am looking for a cheap but clean room for overnight before I check into Pop Century the next day. Also I'd be going to US/IOA for the day before checking into PC.

Anyone know anything about this hotel? It says it was recently renovated and is right down the street from US.

Looks like it is so-so...but for that price, you can't expect anything spectacular.

I saw those reviews, but I was hoping some DISer had stayed there recently since it says that it's been newly renovated.

Newly renovated could just mean new bedspreads. So many hotels in the area had hurricane damage over the last couple of years and needed repairs that just about everyone one of them had to renovated in some way. If they can't keep their occupancies up during what is typically considered peak season...it can't be good!

But, as you said, hopefully someone with first-hand knowledge will see this and post their review. Also, you may have more luck posting this on the US board (if you haven't already) as there are quite a few Orlando residents that frequent the board and may have info. on the property.

I think I might book it for the $39 rate since it has to be done before March 17th to lock it in, then shop around until I find something better.

But if anyone has any "first-hand" knowledge, would love to hear your experiences!!
