Hi, there. Am eagerly anticipating a December stay at the Beach Club. Have previously stayed at the YC, so already know the lay of the land. Am wondering about the overall condition of the resort right now, whether construction near quiet pool is complete, whether CM's have been radiating the Disney spirit. Also wondering whether you have discovered any fun little things to do there aside from the obvious (Beaches and Cream, Stormalong Bay, the Boardwalk). Thank you SO much.

Guilty aside: Someday I hope to be able to answer as many questions as I ask! Y'all are mighty generous.:love2:

MT,

How exciting to be leaving soon!!

We got back on Nov. 2nd after a 7 night stay. We loved our room can't remember the room number...5603? maybe. Great water view and close to the concierge lounge and elevators. It was my only request made in advance.

The resort looked in good repair, very clean. The only look of wear was on the brass in the elevator. I mentioned it to the family and they looked at me like I was nuts...so maybe I was a little too particular.

All CMs were friendly and helpful eventhough it seemed that the resort was at capacity. Lots of people in the pool but we timed it right for our visits. Either early morning or late afternoon.

Had great fun in the pool especially when Ari(?) organized a water polo game by the tube rental shop. He got about 20 of us involved in a game. The kids remembered Ari from past visits, he usually organizes volley ball games or tennis matches...he is great with kids and makes it fun for all ages playing together.

We walked over to Fantasia Gardens to play mini golf, enjoyed walked to and fro to MGM, especially liked walking back at night, samething walking back from EPCOT at night, also just sitting on the beach at night.

Nothing new at Cape May or Beaches and Cream..maybe a little bit faster service at B&C.

No construction on the lagoon side of the resort. The only place we saw scaffolding was on the back near the villas. Barely noticeable. We never heard a thing.

Have a great visit.

Thank you, Anita!!! I'm glad you had a great stay, and delighted to hear all systems are operational in paradise. Mini golf and nighttime walks by the water sound very inviting right now. I'm hoping for a low-stress, non-commando adventure. Hope your re-entry has been gentle. :boat:

I was just at the Beach Club last month and thought the place looked great, particularly the rooms. They were much improved by the recent room renovations. Can't praise it enough.

My only disappointment was my really awful dinner at Cape May. The seafood was so rubbery it was almost inedible. The only enjoyable dish was the prime rib.

Have fun on your trip!

Thank you, Cara! As you know, positive endorsements of one's chosen resort fuel the pre-trip excitement. Glad your experience was excellent.

I find Cape May oddly alluring despite mediocre food. Can't quite figure out why. Maybe the water-polo games could use the rubbery fish as a projectile, in keeping with the resort's theme. :yo-yo:
