We are in the first steps of planning a trip for mid June 2007. We want to go (me, DH, 17 DS) to the Disnyeland area of California. We were going to use points and stay on site at Disneyland, but DH found Marriott Newport Coast Villas in out DVC Planning Guide. It looks perfect on the website. We were curious as to whether anyone has any information about a stay here.

Thanks!
Karen

We stayed there once. It's a great resort on a hillside overlooking the Pacific just south of Newport Beach. On a really clear day you can see Catalina Island (we only saw it once during the week). Typical Marriott quality. It is a little far from Disney if you plan to go there alot. We spent a week at Newport Coast Villas, then added a few days at Grand Californian for our Disney fix.

Not sure if you knew or not, but this resort is on the site of a planned DVC resort quite some time ago. The DVC resort was actually announced, but never built. Marriott bought the property and built their resort.

We've stayed there twice. It was about a 25-minute drive to DL, and then add time for parking, etc.

The villas are all two-bedroom, 1450 square feet. Very nice and spacious. There are two pool areas. One is larger and one is smaller and quieter. Our kids loved the quieter pool.

We went to Laguna Beach a lot, about a 6-8 minute drive. There is a nice play structure there and a great beach, plus Laguna is right there with places to eat and shop.

We love it there :thumbsup2 ! I hope we can go back next year!

The room was quiet, the view breathtaking, and the jacuzzi tub deliciously luxurious. I'd definitely go back. I was there for one of those "never leave the property and have a break" vacations. Wonderful.
