We are staying there and I was wondering if it's decent
no bugs, good hot showers etc. we are only sleeping there
and may or may not use the pool.
Thanks, Maryann :)

check tripadvisor.com for hotel reviews.

In February of 2003 we drove to Disney and got to Florida
2 days early. We checked out 3 hotels (all booked) and since we
had an advertisement for a discount and it was 10pm we decided to stay at Knights INN for 2 nights. Fortunately we were out of the room for the majority of the time. The air conditioner didn't work and was dripping water. They told us it would be repaired but never was. The rug was sticky and stained. The continental breakfast was watery juice, a stale pre-packed apple thing and coffee. We sent a letter to management as soon as we got home and never got a courtesy response.
Obviously, I don't recommend this place.

Are you staying at the one on Poinciana Blvd. or the one at 7475 W. Irlo Bronson Hwy. ? I think you will find that the one at 7475 Irlo Bronson Hwy. gets better reviews. It is closer to WDW and has a good pool.

I haven't been to the KI in Florida, but we have them around where I live in the Chicago area and years ago did stay in one for the first and last time. They are a cheap motel, and are referred to as "4 hour naps" or the "no-tell motel" if you catch my drift. When we stayed there I was afraid to even lay on the bed, so I put my coat (it was winter) on the bed and laid on top of it, I bearly slept all night long.

Hopefully they keep the ones in Florida better than they do here.

I didn't want to scare you with my post, but I would make sure you really look into the KI in Florida so that you don't end up ruining your trip.

One year my DH and I went to Kentucky for the Breeders Cup (thoroughbred horseracing) and we waited too long to book our room, to get one at a nice place would've cost 450.00 a night (that was for a regular Holiday Inn, not something nice like a Disney resort!) I found a Travelodge in Downtown Louisville for $75 night! I was so thrilled! I looked at their website and it was beautiful. We got there and it was worse than the Knights Inn! It was horrible! The room reaked of smoke, there were stains ( I shudder to think what they were) all over the place, nothing looked clean. I hated it and we were over 5 hours away from home ( we drove there), the breeders cup was the next day, so I had only 2 choices, drive back home or spend the night. Well all day it was ok, we went to Churchill Downs and stayed until the races were over, then we went to a resteraunt that was luckily so crowded we spent like 3 1/2 hours there. Eventually though, we had to go back to that awful, sleazepit of a room....I did my usual thing, I put my jacket on top the bed, there was no way I would get under the covers, and then I couldn't sleep, the toilet made weird awful noises all night long, I was so dead tired, but the uncomfortableness and fact that I was weirded out kept me awake, at about 4 a.m. I could not stand it, we could hear drunken slobs outside our room, it was like they were IN our room! We finally, got up and I went to the office and told them I was disgusted and wanted a refund, they did give me that and then I cancelled the remainder of our stay (it would have been 3 nights) and we went and slept in the Churchill Downs parking lot until the gates opened. What would have been a nice trip, ended up being an exhaustive, frustrating, aggrivating time.

I think there are alot of lower priced places to stay around WDW that would be decent, I would look around and find somewhere where someone has stayed and can give you positive feedback on. Believe me, you will be glad you did.

Just my opinion! :wave2:

Haven't stayed at a Knights Inn in Orlando, but I'd say beware of this chain in general. I used to spend about 40 nights a year in various hotels and Knights Inn are really at the very bottom of the chain. Usually old, smoky and dirty with very poor furnishings. If I were you I would find a way to re-work my budget, or find some discounts, to stay elsewhere. I actually opted to stay at a friend's house with no furniture or electricity (she was in the process of moving) rather than at a Knights Inn.
