Has anyone stayed at the Doubletree Resort Orlando-Villas at Maingate? Its located on Irlo Bronson Hwy., US 192, Kissimmee. Thinking about booking a 2 bedroom villa for myself, wife, and her parents. Found a rate of $119 per night on CheapTickets.com.... just wondering if anybody has an opinion one way or the other... thank you!

I stayed at the Doubletree Villas Maingate this past January. I thought it was very nice. My reservation was called a one bedroom but it had 2 bedrooms with one queen bed each. There was also a large loft with a desk and pull out couch. There was a kitchen area with full size appliances, a large bar to eat on with stools. It had 2 baths, one upstairs near the master bedroom, one off the smaller bedroom downstairs. At the time I was there they were doing rehab to the pool so I didn't get to use that but didn't miss it. The furnishings were a little time worn and the walls seemed a little thin but since I only paid $30/night through priceline I didn't have anything to complain about.

Bumping this up to see if anyone has any recent comments....

Just booked this hotel for Aug 25-30 via priceline - very happy with the price, hope the hotel itself is as good as it sounds!

We were very happy with it... the villa was clean, spacious, and gave the 6 of us plenty of room to spread out... its not a 5 Star hotel... but there were no major problems other than the matresses could have been a little firmer.

Enjou your stay!

We stayed there for 10 days last May and it was fine - The staff was always friendly and accomodating. We had a 3 bedroom for $99/nite. Downstairs was a bedroom w/queen bed & bathroom, a kitchen and living room. Upstairs was a bathroom to share with 1 bedroom w/king bed and 1 bedroom w/2 queen beds. We enjoyed our stay. Only problems were a few lights didn't have bulbs in them (they brought them as soon as we told them about it) and that some of the dresser drawers were either stuck closed or missing their knobs. Commute to the parks was easy. Great mini-golf course right out in front of hotel.

Have fun!

We also received the Doubletree Villas for August through Priceline. I'm getting a little nervous now as I have seen both good and bad reviews of the hotel. Can anyone give us any recent feedback? Thanks!!

We (DS8 and I) stayed at the Doubletree Villas Maingate from 8/25-8/30 on a Priceline Reservation for $39/night. We really enjoyed our stay and it was well worth the money paid. We received a 2 bedroom villa with one queen bed each, a large loft with a desk and pull out couch, full kitchen area with full size appliances, a large bar to eat on with stools. 2 baths, one upstairs near the master bedroom, one off the smaller bedroom downstairs, a patio with a view of the "lake/pond" and two TVs.

The furnsihings are a bit old and the paint job probably needs to be redone (it was doen sloppy the last time). The pool was a bit crowded but nice - nothing special. Lots of British tourists at this hotel.

We ate breakfast each day in the room and dinner once. There is a Publix on the corner of 535 and 192 (about 1/10 mile away) and a brand new Super Target is being built right next door and looks close to opening.

Staff was great, housekeeping left a note each day thanking us for our stay (and tip) - can't beat it for $39/night.
