Anyone regret buying an AP?

Buckeye if your going for ten days I say get them. Secondly call Disney reservations and see if they have any more rooms available under the AP rates. The money you save will be tremendous.

Buckeye When you get your AP ,it comes in a little case with all the discount info in it. Mini golf and all the Epcot restaurants for lunch. Also some resort Restaurants and The Trails End buffet in FW.

We finally had the light bulb go off over our heads and we bought APs. Since we began driving (and enjoying it!), we have been using the $$ saved on flying to lengthen our stays. Going for 9 days in November, and it made sense to buy APs.

We want to do two trips next year and also have the flexibility to meet my brother and SIL down there when they are in Orlando on business (at least once per year).

The information helps tremedously. We decided to get the AP's and we got the $74 rate at Coronado Springs for June. Great deal all the way around.

Thank you!!!!

We bought APs for our trip this summer. We'll be there for 9 days. We are DVC owners, so the resort cost isn't an issue. We downgraded from a one bdrm unit to a studio so that we could go again for Thanksgiving. That's now a total of 16 days. Next summer we are planning on visiting VeroBeach but staying in WDW for several days before that. This will be in July. Total of days used on our AP's?? 20. That breaks down to about $20 a day per person. Yep. I like my AP. I figure that we will only go to the water parks this August one time. We have 2 plus visits on some old PHP passes that we'll use for that. So, the only extra we spend is on airfare. Well, and food.

Prices are about....
5 day PHP....275 in advance, 265 at parks
7 day PHP...336/364
8 day UPH..380/407
AP.............403
PAP...........531

Regret buying an AP ? Never ! The only ticket media at Disney that my family has ever had has been APs. Now, will it save you money of cost you in the long run ?? Hard to say, because an active AP in your pocket makes it sooo very tempting to squeeze just one more trip in !

I know - we already have one trip under our belt from our most recent AP. The room discount alone made that one worthwhile - AKL during Holiday season for $109/night for 7 nights (normal rate for Holiday season was $324/night). That room discount alone effectively paid for all three of our APs.

In addition, we already have a two week trip in June booked, and another 5 day trip in December before Christmas.

Then I review my PTO (personal time off) balance and realize that if I need to schedule some more time off this year or I will hit my max in the "bank" at the end if the year. I decided that I needed to schedule another week off at the beginning of August.

And what does that AP in my pocket say - Darn, another trip to Disney.

Then I check my daughters school schedule online for 2004-2005 and what do I find but a four-day weekend in October. My wife and I start thinking "hmmm.... 1 day drive down, 1 day back, two days at WDW, and the possibility of MNSSHP." Sounds like a plan to me !

It's an addiction, true - fortunately no one is looking for a cure !

February 03- bought our AP's.

Planned to go Feb-March 03 and Feb 04.

Went Feb 20 to Mar 2, 03, one day trip end of Mar. (just happened to be in Florida), June 4 to June 9,03, one day trip in August (visiting sick family needed a day to self), Feb 4 to Feb 16, 04.

Originally planned 2 trips with a total of 20 days.

Final Total= 31 Days plus discounted Cirque tickets, discounted rooms, discounted car rentals with Alamo, discounted meals at resorts....I spent a whole MONTH at WDW:tongue:

Did I spend more money than planned? Yep. Am I happy? Yep.
What did I learn? How to find cheap airflights. Major benefit - you can go to the parks for that one hour on the day you arrive or leave and not worry about "wasting" a whole day park hopper pass. You can go every single day of the year if you want. Takes off a lot of stress.

Well worth it!:sunny:

We passed the break-even point on my AP on our first trip (room discounts and other stuff plus 11 park days).

DH just got a new job, and for the first time in our 32 years of marriage, he's off weekends and holidays. Wow, a 3-day weekend at WDW? Sounds great, let's do it! WOW--great AP rate for resort? Why are we only going for three days, let's make it four--or five.

Hmm, I guess we'll get our money's worth this time, since we're planning an October trip too!
