anyone recently bought non-ssr points direct from disney

Has anyone out there recently purchased any non-SSR points directly from Disney (not from resale brokers)? Since it seems that lately Disney has been excercising their ROFR more often I was wondering what they do with all those contracts & how fast do they turn them around? And does Disney ever just buy back contracts that are up for resale outright (rather than waiting for someone else to make an offer and then doing ROFR)? Just curious....

Yes, you can buy those points from DVC, but the costs are prohibitively high for any large volume of points. In fact, it's even higher than SSR with the current incentives:

SSR - $85 per point, 49 years
All others - $89 per point, 38 years

IMO, it makes sense for small add-ons, but you're much better off going resale for those resorts for 150+ points.

DVC does not purchase contracts outright. In some cases, they probably don't even make a profit on resales, but ROFR is a necessary evil to keep a fairly narrow gap between resale prices and DVC-direct prices.

Within the last 2 weeks we added on 200 BWV points through DVD. We were on the wait list for about 3 weeks for our October use year. Our guide said they were being more aggressive about ROFR, particularly if they had people on a waitlist for a specific use year. Price is 89 p/p.

My sister bought 150 BWV direct from disney about 6 weeks ago (this was her initial purchase). She even got in about 2 days before the price increase

We're closing next month on a tiny BWV add-on through DVC. Our use year (August) was available when we called.

We contacted our guide about a week before the price increase for a 50 point add on at BW.
Then he called us the day the price went up to see if we were still interested. We were.
It was about two days later that he called and told us thay DVC had refused on a reasale and we could have 50 points of it if we wanted.
We took it in a heartbeat.

We recently added on at BWV direct through DVC, only 25 points, which is all we wanted, but never saw on resales sites, easier just going directly through my own VG. They are immediately available - a lovely thing!

we bought 160 SSR points back in July. haven't made our first trip home but we are hoping to go in less than 1year now!

We bought some SSR points with that great incentive, and also another 60 BWV points (Feb UY) to round out our holdings at the beginning of this month. I expect these were ROFRed points. I guess we could have saved a little by going thru resale, but at $89 a point with full points (all of which I could bank), the ease and convenience made this a good deal for us.
