Parking at another resort

On my last trip I parked at Contemporary for a Steakhouse 71 reservation, went to MK afterwards, and left my car there until after MK closed without a problem.

I remember when AKL first opened, there was talk of having it be a "closed resort"-that only guests or people with confirmed reservations could park there. Well there was such a loud protest that that didn't last long (I think they changed their minds even before opening). But now it's the way at all the resorts. I can't help but think, though, that the size of the resort parking lots is a significant reason.
