Anyone on the Wonder on May 5, 2005

Nana, I'm so glad to see that you will be on the Wonder the same time as my family. My neice will be so happy to know that someone her age will be sailing. She will be 9 in March. We are getting so excited. :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :cheer2: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo princess: :sunny: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Has anyone gotten any paperwork on excursions yet? We just paid our final payment on our cruise yesterday. It is my understanding that once the cruise is paid in full we will get paperwork listing the excursions that we can schedule ahead of time.

I thought you couldnt schedule any excursions before 60 days out.

Anyone going to try and see the new show at WDW before the cruise

Hi ladypoo,
What show would that be? We will be at WDW 3 days before the cruise but haven't scheduled anything "special" for that time

They are supposed to have the opening of the new "Cinderellabration" on the castle forecourt on the 5th. We are going to try and see it before heading over to the port.

Hi!

More first time cruisers happy to join you all! :)

We're a family of 5 driving down from PA. Our cast includes:
DH, Mel, 41
Myself, Deb, 36
and our 3 sons:
Cameron, turning the big 1-2 Castaway Key Day!! :bday:
Codey, turning 10 April 18th
Conner (aka CJ), 6

We are very excited and are hoping that WDW will do something special with us all our first night to celebrate Disneyland's 50th!! What do you think?? It's also Cinco de Mayo.

We're all really excited about the "Pirates IN the Caribbean" night (does anyone know which night?), because we were just at WDW for MNSSHP where we all dressed up as Disney Pirates!!! I'm SO happy to be able to use these costumes again. :) Our 3 sons were Captain Hook, Mr. Smee & Peter Pan and dh and I were Capt. Jack Sparrow & Elizabeth Swann. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out a better way to apply dh's beard, so it won't fall off during dinner, like it did at Liberty Tree Tavern last year!! (Not much, but just a neausance for dh & maybe put his long, curly locks of hair into a ponytail during dinner).

As far as Nassau? I think that we are going to stay onboard. There will be so much to do on the ship & I know the boys are really looking forward to the clubs.

We will then be staying at WDW until the following Sat. Our neice (11) will be performing with her dance trouppe at MK the following Tues.!! :cheer2: There will be 12 of us altogether. We are exchanging our Williamsburg time share (July 4th week, 2006) to hopefully be able to stay onsite at DVC. The boys are VERY anxious, checking everyday to see if a match has been found, especially because of the new EMH. Their cousins are staying at AlSM, so they'll be disappointed if they couldn't do EMH together. If not, there are LOTS of other resorts near WDW and we are just happy to be able to go, but you kwim?

Looking forward to getting to know you all. If any of your children would like to chat with the boys to start friendships before the cruise, please send me a private message to get them connected.

Have a "Wonder"ful week!!
:)
Deb

P.S. Anyone packed, yet???

Disneymom-We are so happy that you will be on the cruise. Pirate night is the second night(nassau night). We don't have costumes yet but it sounds like fun. Yes I have started packing as crazy as it sounds. When I buy something for the cruise, I go ahead and put it in the suitcase. I'm so excited. We are all so looking forward to this trip. We talk about it everyday. :cheer2: :cool1:

Thanks for the update - do you know what time this is supposed to take place?

We were also wondering if anything "special" would take place on-board since our first night is on the 5th - has anyone heard of how the ships will celebrate on May 5th

Thanks!

Hi!

I saw this on another DIS thread from www.cruisenewsdaily.com

* Good-Bye, Nassau
Feb 4 - Disney Cruise Line is adjusting the time Disney Wonder leaves Nassau. They have moved the sailaway from Nassau earlier to 7:30pm on the weekly 3-night cruise.

I also read that this is because of the Pirates IN the Caribbean event held that evening.

Have a "Wonder"ful day!
:)
Deb

Dinner is pirate-themed. Then after both dinner seatings are over(about 9:30 or 10:00) the deck party starts. It is my understanding that we must leave Nassau early in order to get out to sea for the party. We have to be away from land in order to set of the fireworks. I'm not sure exactly how far away from land that we have to be but there are guidelines and I'm sure Disney follows them explicitly. They are the only cruise ship allowed to set off fire works to my understanding. This is all info that I have gathered from reading the boards. I'm sure the party will be great. :cool1:

I'm not sure if anything is happening for the 5th or not. I was "wonder"ing if DCL will do anything on the 8th at breakfast before debarkation for mother's day or even that weekend? We are cruising mother's day weekend!! I don't know how they celebrate. Does anyone know?

We cruised on Mother's Day a few years ago and no mention was even made of it. Don't know if they are planning anything for the 5th or not. It would be nice but I guess it really doesn't matter that much. We're cruising!!! Life doesn't get much better than that!

I agree with you Ragdoll. The cruise will be plenty enough for me. Although I will have a mother's day gift hid somewhere for my mom. :goodvibes

:) We paid off our cruise today. It is more of a reality now. The room at WDW is already paid for. WE are ready to go...

Patty Misti and Dominique

It is such a good feeling to have the cruise paid off, isn't it? We paid ours off on Feb. 4 and it felt so good. Congratulations on being paid in full !!!!!!! What a great feeling. :cool1: :cool1:

Ok...someone please tell me more about the pirate theme....my ds LOVES pirates......I am so excited....i love watching the counter... :cloud9: He tells everyone we see that he is going to disney world and then on that big boat!

There is a lot of information on Pirate night pirate: on the Disney Cruise Line Forum. I've read all about it. If you have any specific questions, I'll try to answer or you can read about it there. It's going to be a lot of fun. :cool1: :cool1:

The thread to read is titled Pirate Night on Wonder????. It will explain all about what happens during the evening. Fireworks are supposed to start in March. The Wonder will get the equipment toward the end of Feburary. I'm so excited. :cheer2: I started looking for Alyssa a costume today. I'm not sure if she will wear it or if she will prefer a dress. I thought I'd find a couple costumes online and then show her and let her decide. What's everyone else doing-dressing up or not? Disney provides bandanas and eye patches. pirate:

I'm on the 5/8 Wonder cruise. If any of you are in room 6102, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave the toilet seat down before disembarking.

Thanks. ;)
