Anyone on the Sept 26, 2004 Wonder??

I'm new to all this...Disney Cruise, this site...everything. But I know one thing...I share in your excitement:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Is there an official meeting place and time? I'd love to meet you all!

I meant to pack yesterday but I found this site and couldn't walk away. I sat her all afternoon:p

My DH thinks I'm crazy:crazy:

Our group is me, DH, DD 12, DS 8 and 2 other moms, 2 DHs, 2 DD 8, 1 DS 5, 1 DD 5.

For 2 weeks I typically answer the phone the a squealing voice on the other end of the line...and it's not the kids!:Pinkbounc

My prayers are with all of you as you travel...especially the far away places!

Good luck packing too!

We are having a DISmeet onboard at the Promenade Lounge after the Life Boat Drill. Some of us are wearing green mickey heads paintchips from Home Depot or a green paper button so we can at least recognize another DISer. Hope to see you there!:D

A quick question ~ can/should I put locks on out suitcases? If I should, what kind?

I am sooooo excited and I'm glad you all are tooooooo! I started filling suitcases ~ hoping my 1 very large suitcase will not be heavy.

We don't have a home depot for the mickey paintchips, but I'm sure I'll find you all ~~ I will just look for the friendliest faces on board.

Mary ~ praying your husband makes it safely.

My DH did a load of laundry...I think the excitement is wearing off on him!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Still no word yet on hubby's arrival - should be in Kuwait now waking up (almost 7am tomorrow there). Will hopefully have an update tomorrow.

Zip ties works really well, as all that's needed to get into the suitcase if security warrants it, is a scissors/clipper. Just put a finger nail clipper in an outside zipper pocket of one of your checked bags to use once you board the ship, if you have one on you thru security, they will take it from you!

?? Did that make sense  ??

Counting down. 5 days for us before we board!!!:cheer2:

Will be getting green mickey's at Home Depot.

TheGottis, heard from DH yet? Lots and lots of pixie dust for a safe trip.

Can't wait!!!:jumping1:

Mary have you heard from DH yet? My son and your DH could actually cross paths. My son is in Fuels so he could be the one fueling the plane. :D
Kris I just want to wish you a very safe trip into WDW and hopefully the weather will be beautiful here for you.

Just a reminder and invitation for all the newbies for our DISmeet that is scheduled for in the Promenade Lounge the day of boarding, just after the Lifeboat Drill. Hope everyone can make it!!!:bounce: :bounce: :wave2:

Well, how exciting --- I just watched my countdown clock change from 1 day to 23 hours! So hard to believe it after all this waiting.

One last excitement -- my dh was putting chairs in the yard from our front porch and left the gate open for a couple of minutes. We have a rat terrier who usually just tags along with us and doesn't roam.

But today, of all days, he did. My dh didn't notice that he was missing right away. I was upstairs in the bedroom packing and heard dh whistling for the dog. When dh came upstairs and asked if Toby was with me, I knew there was trouble.

Sure enough, the dog had left.

DH got in his car and drove down the block and after walking around the house for a couple minutes, calling for the dog, I decided to get in the van and go looking also.

I know that there is NO WAY our kids would want to leave for vacation with the dog lost. It would totally ruin the whole thing for them worrying all week. So this was quickly turning into a catastrophe.

As I pulled out of the driveway, I saw dh's car coming back and there, in the passenger seat looking very happy, I might add -- TOBY!

Thankfully, he had stopped on the other side of the block to dig a nice hole in someone's front yard. Had he not decided he needed to do that, he would have gotten farther away and harder to find.

Just a few more grey hairs for me -- that was a close one!

Kris

Very glad you found him! I am so worried about leaving our dog Piggy, with the tropics being as active as they are right now. BTW I have a younger brother Toby. Reminded me I had to call him today! See you soon I hope!

Talked to Jim this morning... he is still in Kuwait hopefully will leave there tomorrow afternoon to be back here (FL) on Thursday or Friday. AUGHH!! The anticipation is darn near killing me!

My daughter is freaking out... (reminds me of the "are-we-there-yet-syndrome") - "Is Daddy here yet? When's Daddy getting here? Why aren't we at the airport? We're going to miss him! Mommy, Mommy come on!!!"

Kris: Have a safe trip tomorrow! :wave2:

Jeeper9: Glad it'll help. Glad I made sense! Sometimes my fingers and brain are not in sync.

Off to begin putting clothes into the suitcase!! WooHoo!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Oh, I can remember those military homecomings...wait, then wait some more. My husband's squadron used to fly in to the air station and the planes would trickle in all day. It was very hard to wait for hours while other people's spouses came home. The balloons and bands were all done, etc. and a few of us still waited. It was torture! About five of the wives I knew (including me!;) had put on hardly anything under our "coats".) Well, we waited for hours and the commanding officer's wife kept saying "Ladies, take your coats off and stay a while!" and we were way to embarrased to admit we couldn't take off our coats! It was so funny.

Here is hoping your husband gets home Thursday so you can relax and begin your vacation in a great way. I am thinking of you!

That is TOO TOO FUNNY - a friend of mine ended up in a situation similar to that also, but it happened going thru the metal detectors at the airport - she had to explain WHY she could not remove her coat to the gentleman working the machine and they had to send in a female guard to actually find out why she was 'beeping'. After much embarrassment, it seems that the hooks on her garter triggered it!!

Thanks!! It'd be nice to have that extra day, since I have been planning on (the worst case) Friday.

Don't we all have a story like that one? lol I did that when my DH (my boyfriend at the time) visited me while I was working in Ocean City, MD..his parents had a condo in OC for a week and I went to pick him up there in a light weight longer barn jacket...once I got there he wanted to eat dinner (go figure..hungry college student)..so they invited me to come in and take off my jacket. Well..of course I could not and I sat at the table bright read after this being only my 3 time meeting them..watching DH eat and eat and eat course after course..lol. I didn't even have a chance to tell him what was going on. We had a good laugh after that and years later after we were married I let his parents in on the secret..they had a chuckle! that same week DH and I polished off an entire 6 pack of beer together (horror!!) so his mom got me my first gift from them...a dark green beer cooze with the profile of a naked woman on it...LOL.

OK..that is my story...who else?
