Anyone on the Sept 26, 2004 Wonder??

Just talked to DCL and the CM told me that preliminary info is that the Wonder for the 26 will leave out of Port Everglades. It is not certain, cause they will try to make sure that Port Canaveral is totally out of the question. They will bus from PC to PE. He suggested I call back tomorrow, and he did mentioned that they learned alot about making decisions quickly and getting everyone around from the last hurricane.
So nothing is cast in stone yet, but they are looking at it. At the same time I still have debris from Frances in front of my house (mostly trees that snapped, etc), and with Jeanne coming, I don't think that is a great thing.

Yes - we will, so to us that's all that really matters at this point, whether we are together at home or on the ship - as long as we are together - but it still STINKS! Still keeping my hopes up and the prayers and pixie dust flying!

Anyway, I just got off the phone with him - he's in Atlanta and taking an earlier flight! YEAH!!

If anyone happens to get info from DCL regarding changes, info, etc..., can you post it to this thread?

Just called DCL.....

According to the CSR I talked to, the captain will be making a decision on ports of call later today. She suggested that I call back tommorrow morning for a better update.

THIS JUST MAKES ME SICK!!!!! I though we were all clear of this crap... now this...



We will all just have to make the best out of the situation. Maybe we will get to go someplace else, like Key West and Cozumel !

Just saw the landfall point for the 11 o'clock update and now it is furhter south from us (Spacecoast) like by Ft. Pierce/West Palm Beach. That may put Port Everglades out of the question for driving people there.

tjosato, DCL told me the same thing, to call back in the am tomorrow.

WE ARE LEAVING OUT OF PORT EVERGLADES. Just called DCL to ask a different question and they took all of my arrival information because we will not be leaving from PC. I guess they just made the decision between now and the time i called this morning.

I am currently on "HOLD" after a call aready placed to a DCL rep who could "not" answer my questions acurately. ARG!!! She told me that if we were rerouted, because I did not purchase transfers, the drive to/from Ft. Laud. is my responsibility. But I find that unacceptable as we could leave from F.L., but return to P.C.

Okay, second call. Spoke with Nicky. Very resposive and helpful -- I appreciate that! She advised that the change to FL/Everglades is *Not Confirmed* at this point; still considered an alternate. She *did* confirm that if the ship leaves from FL, even though we did not purchase transfers, that we *will* be bussed from P.C. to F.L.

Note: I have ordered flowers from Shirley for our stateroom and a wreath. Oh boy! Nicky advised that DCL is *not* responsible to forward those items to F.L. (I think I need to go call Shirley now!!!)

I spoke with Shirley and she is bringing everything to DCL today for the Sunday sailing, so your wreath should be there. Call her to confirm. I ordered three baskets and she said they would be on board.

I am VERY concerned about sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. I live a few miles from the port and it would be very easy for me BUT...
Local weather reports state that Jeanne will be in West Palm Beach on Sunday morning. How the heck will they get people to FT. Lauderdale if this is the case???? I think it is too early to say where she will make land fall. I am just nervous that we will all scurry to Ft. Lauderdale and then the WOnder won't be able to port there.

I spoke with Disney twice this morning - the first time they told me we were leaving out of Port Everglades, and the second time they told me we were leaving out of Port Canaveral and that I should call to confirm tomorrow (these calls were within an hour of each other). We had a room at the Radisson booked for Saturday, but I've also booked a room at the Comfort Suites in Ft. Lauderdale just in case - it's cancelable until 4:00 tomorrow. $81 for the AAA rate. I guess we'll just have to hang in there until we know more tomorrow!

lookingforward.... Was thinking the same thing, I am in Melbourne and live 20 min from PC. When I talked to DCL they told me about going to F.L., but now Jeanne is forecasted to make landfall in bteween Ft. Pierce and WPB Sunday AM. It will be kind of hard to be bussed Sunday from PC to F.L.

I spoke with Shirley this morning, at the time, the posts were for F.L./Evergl. and she did not expect to be able to ship the items out for me. She is such a sweetheart; she told me that she has 3 purple roses and would cast them into the water for me on Sat. afternoon. I couldn't believe that she would be thinking of me while she was expecting to be hit with yet another whopper of a storm. God Bless her. I'm keeping her and Norm in my prayers as well as all Floridians. Gosh! I thought New England blizzards were terrible; but what Florida has encountered this season makes a blizzard look like a good thing. -- I will check in on Shirley tomorrow.

Oh geez, I'm in sunny, calm Kentucky...been working all day, made a side trip to the Disney store to buy a Mikey Halloween shirt for my DD and DS and just got on-line. UUUUGGGHHHH! Please go away! We've waited 3 years for this trip!

We are leaving from Louisville on Saturday and have a room at the Raddison that night. Do you think I should get a room in F.L.?

Just have to chime in and say this is nerve wrecking. Just getting the house settled and packed to leave is stomach churing enough. DD received the call around 2P that the port will be PE. We are flying out from NW IN in the morn to stay w/my parents outside of Tampa before and after the cruise. I am with the rest of you as far as making this cruise happen even with a itinerary change. Not thrilled about being changed to 3 day either. Yuck!
Then again, we do need to be flexible.

Blessed are the flexible, for they will not be bent out of shape.

Okay guys... Here's my 2 cents worth (if that)...

I'm not going to change ANY of my plans until I talk to someone on Saturday night. If we keep "what if this - what if that" and "this CM said this, but mine said that" - we're all gonna stress ourselves out beyond recovery. I refuse to get this way again - had enough stress these last few weeks, months, etc... It's just not worth it. In the past hour I have seen at least 5 projection maps and NONE have been the same... so what does that tell me? NO ONE KNOWS! So unless DCL has a direct connect to Mother Nature, I would hope that they do not jump the gun AND do not have a repeat of the incidents from Frances.

Okay - I feel better for venting, but you know

I think they meant if we are changed to a 3 night. So far I have not heard that they are going to make it a 3 night. All we can do is wait and see. It seems like we've been doing that alot around here in Fl.
