I can not believe I have not seen this thread!

We are so excited to be joining all you in just 2 weeks (and a day).

Sailing with us is me (Christy), my DH (Steve), my DS (Braden who will be 3 in November) and DS (Brennen-8 months when we cruise). I have also convinced a friend of mine from VA to join us with her DH and DD (2 1/2).

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise (this will be the baby's first)--thank goodness for FL resident rates. We received our docs about a week ago.

I will do my best to join you all for the DISmeet.

We finally got our docs yesterday it took so long because our TA didn't put the right amount of postage on the envelope. We are so excited for our first cruise. We will try to meet with everybody for the disboarders meeting!! Looking forward to meet everyone. I hope that the weather will co-operate with us. Can't wait to see everyone!

Hi everyone! We finally have power, internet and cable back on. Its a miracle. Hurricane Frances really took it's toll on us here in Palm Beach County. People were fighting over food, gas, traffic stops, etc. I just kept thinking about the cruise while we tried to sleep with no air for five days.

Then for a day or so, Ivan was forcasted to go right through Florida. I panicked and took my kids to Orlando along with my parents. Thankfully for us it moved to the gulf. Now we worry about the west coast and panhandle. We had a fun weekend at the Shades of Green anyway! The new renovation is lovely.

I am so happy about Castaway Cay being back open. The disboard meet sounds like fun, too. I hope everyone can attend.

We are traveling with two 11 year old boys (my son and his best friend) and our 5 year old daughter.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I am going back and forth about the door signs....I am concerned about putting my kids' names on the door -- someone could knock and call them by name (we have connecting rooms) -- also am concerned about putting just our last name on the door. If no names, then what would you put on a door sign??

Any ideas on this?

ccruz & shmora : The door signs are used for a variety of things... it makes the room visible to you and your family (YES the doors ALL look alike), as a friendly hello, distinguish you as a DISner, make a great addition to you scrapbook or trip album, etc... They are fairly easy to make. Most people use MSWord with clip art found on the web. Just do a search on google with "disney clip art" or "mickey clip art" - you will get a TON of hits.

There are some great examples on this site... do a search on DOOR SIGNS to get ideas.

Kris : I went ahead and used our first names only - since there is NO WAY I'm leaving my 3yo alone (he he)... but since you all will be in separate rooms I can see the hesitation.

You could do something like : Having a WONDERful time - Greetings from xxxxx (<-- your state) or Cruising is WONDERful or you can do half pages for each kid... for girls use Ariel and say "This Princess Swims Here" or Aurora and something like "My Disney Princess Sleeps here" and for a boy maybe Woody and "My Favorite Buckaroo Rides here".... that way no names but each kid can identify with a character - am I making ANY SENSE??? or for the kids room - you could just use a picture of the whole Disney gang.

On ours, I used a Mickey and Minnie that reminded me of each of our personalities (pilot and shopaholic) and then a baby Ariel for my daughter. Some people have used pictures of the actual ship... or Castaway Cay

As you can see the possibilities are endless... if you get stuck with an idea or layout, PM me and I'll see what I can do. Have fun with it and don't stress - between all of us on here we can come up with something what will work and keep everyone safe and happy!

**Oh, by the way, they totally butchered the spelling of our last name (Gotti is the shortened/nickname version) - but, I called DCL directly and they corrected immediately! Said that as long as their manifest matches our ID then we are good - I had the poor CM repeat the spelling back to me 3 times...
