Anyone on Magic Eastern 9/20/03?

ARE WE THERE YET?

Too excited to think, posting here keeps my hands busy. (I should be doing housework, but this is MUCH more fun!)

There are only two other places I can think of for a possible meeting place. There is the promenade lounge which never gets really busy unless there is a game going on...it's right on the 3rd deck, by the Internet Lounge...Then there is Topsiders (Beach Blanket for all you wonder fans) They have the outside deck there, plus extra food inside...we could just meet there...wait...it might be closed then, so there goes that! The only other thing I can think of is to rent a conference room from Disney...but really...who would want to do that??

I think that we should plan on the Deck 7 secret...and if it is closed, go to Promenade...That would be my best bet.

So I just realized a few things. This Wednesday is my parent's anniversary...20 years...so that will be something else to celebrate...and then my aunt who is coming along has her anniversary on the 21st!!!! It will be her 18th...so we have LOADS to celebrate!!!!

Okay, so I decided to wear the perfect shirt for the first day. It is black and has Tinkerbell on it. It says believe in pixies. I think that would be perfect!!!

Can't wait to see you all...I'm going on a cruise...I'm going on a cruise!!!........

We are also celebrating our anniversary, 17 years on the 27th!!!!

TinkerBellPixie4GOAL - my dd11 has that exact same shirt and she loves it!!

And I won't tell you about the shirt my dh is suppose to wear on the first day of the cruise, my dsil(Preb) got it for him for his birthday!!!!

Birthdays, Anniversaries, meeting new people, OH MY! We are gonna have A LOT of fun!!

*Throws confetti and cranks the noisemakers*

Just practicing. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

With all these celebrations it will soon become the party boat. And - we can handle it.

Next week at this time I'll be giving eveyone a to do list for while i am gone and then after lunch - off to the airport YEAH!!!!!!

See you all soon

Sandy

Is anyone else concerned about the hurricane situation? I know that once we set sail everyhing will be fine, but I sure hope it misses Florida so we can at least make it in on our flights and depart!
Since we're doing the single digit dance now...:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Does that mean I'm supposed to start packing?!?;)

Preb -

Yes I to am concerned about the hurricane and the potential damage it may do to everything in its path but agree that once we get to Florida DCL will not let anything happen to its ship or its passengers. I am still packing and counting down and next week at this time I may be making alternate arrangements but I know I can't do anything but pray about about it until then...just trying to convince myself to stay flexible about a "mystery cruise".

I have been following the other thread about the hurricane too and they have some very enlightening information (that I could probably find elsewhere if I just left this board long enough to try - haha) .

I am not trying to make light of a serious situation. I know that some things I can't control, I can only work with what I am given.

Re: the hurricane, I believe at this point they expect it to be in the NorthEast by the 19th, which is the day I leave. I am hoping that by then it will be somewhat downgraded. Everyone can throw in an extra prayer that it does no damage or injury.

Ah great...another hurricane...we see so many of these down here in Florida every year. Luckily Central Florida is not as bad...whenever there is a hurricane we sit at home, watch movies, play games and bond as a family. They always get us excited over the fact that there is a major hurricane coming, and then when it hits it is nothing but a lot of rain. Last time it was Dennis, and we went out to Bennigans. I remember Disney closed its parks early one day for fear of the hurricane...and then it veered at the last minute causing us very little rain, and Disney lost a lot of money that day.

So really, once you get used to them, it's not that bad. I'm more afraid of the hurricane ruining Castaway Cay!!! But I will add an extra prayer for those who do get the worst of it and for those who are still afraid. I know what it's like to be afraid. Flying is my worst fear!

OK, we'll try for the Very Merry get-together on Monday at 3:45 at the Secret Deck 7 and if that is closed, then the Promenade Lounge. Yes, BelievesInMagic, it will be a BYOCT party! Can you imagine us all wandering around, carrying cheese trays and trying to find the gathering? :)

My DH just showed me some hurricane maps and showed me some possible projected paths. He's fairly good at meteorology, so he'll keep me posted.

We were on a cruise ship during hurricane Isadore last year, it made things "interesting", but captain and crew got us through it just fine, our biggest worries were about the people on land who faced the possible destruction.

We're flying to Orlando on the 17th, I need to visit Figment! (the little purple dragon, not Figment52, I don't think she'll be there yet!) :) So we're watching the weather for our flights too.

Its been so nice "chatting" with all of you in the thread, its making the wait a lot more fun!

Just wanted to put this where everyone can find it on the FIRST page because we are all going on a CRUISE!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Is anyone taking outfits for the 70's, 80's party? I think I'll rummage through the closets to see what I can find. DH thinks I'm crazy and gave me that, "I'm not dressing up", look. I shot back a, "Oh yes you are." stare. :) Heck I feel we planned and paid good money, we are having a good time! :p

Less than one week left! A week from today we will be sailing to our first Port of Call!!!!!

Friday we picked up my semi-formal/homecoming dress...it's a nice plain black one.

Can't wait to meet you all...tomorrow we're picking up our lime green mickeys hopefully

I am flying out of Newark and this storm is making me nervous. I just changed our flights from Friday to Thursday so that we can be in Fl early. We are going to the pin event in Epcot Friday anyway and meeting our niece and nephew for a few hrs before we drive to the port. An extra day is FL is ok with us. Had to pay a total $100 change fee, but it made me feel a little better, hope everyone has a safe trip to FL.

Shoes99, is there any problem that you know of with bringing Disney pins in a carryon on a plane or the ship? I remember a discussion some time ago about this in another group, but rules change. I don't have many but hate to trust them in checked luggage.

I made my alien green Mickey pin, glued it to heavier cardboard, and hot glued a nice safety pin on the back. Now I look at it and realize that it is quite a pointy object, and had better go into my checked suitcase!

I forgot about the 70s/80s party, BelievesInMagic! Did you find anything to wear to it?

Jane

DH is bringing two books of pins in his carry-on. We purchased a small rolling suitcase just for pins and lanyards. We always carry them on. Sometimes in Orlando we get searched, but we never have any problems in Newark, nor have we had any problems at the port. We have been on two pin trading cruises and there were people with a lot more pins then us going thru security.

Jane-

Say HI to figment for me. I fell in love with the little guy when I first met him in the original "Journey". It sure is nice to have hime back isn't it? I was able to see him over Labor Day and if all goes well I'll pop into see him after the cruise.

See you all Saturday!!

I was lying in bed last night and realized that within a week we would already be a day into the cruise. Wow.

We picked up our green Mickies over the weekend, got some nice new luggage (we were still using our beat-up college luggage), and are working on our packing list. I can't believe it's creeping up on us so quickly!! I'm going to stop by the craft store and pick up some pin-backs to affix to them. I'll probably write PC-Bakers across them both with black marker.

I probably won't dress up for the 70s/80s party but we both do love 80s music, will have to go to that one for sure. I'm only bringing one formal dress (the green one I wore for my wedding) and DH is doing a nice dark suit rather than a tux.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the sailaway! Any news on the weather/Isabelle? I assume the hurricane will be pretty much dissapated by the time we head out to sea.

Can you believe it? Less then 5 days! I can hardly stand the wait! I cannot wait to get out of school. I think I've had enough Geometry!!!!

Italian is getting boring too, but it's still interesting. Come sta Loro? (how are you all?) Io sto benissimo!!! (I'm excellent)

cannot wait to meet all of you!!!! Getting our green mickey's soon!!!!!!

Ciao! ArriverderLa!

Aahhh Rory - silly child- can't wait to take a week off school --

Well, with all the new aunts and uncles you have met on this thread we will be keeping an eye on you making sure you have "study time" every day. Can't be letting you get behind now can we...LOL

I am almost packed - most all that is out is the stuff I use every day and my carryon. I even remembered bubbles (I hope I have room in my carryon). Now if I could just get everything done at work I'd be all set.

See you Saturday...

Rory, can we ask you to practice your Italian for us on the ship and sing "Bella Notte"? :D That's great you are learning the language!

I'm packed, got an early wake-up call (3 a.m.!) and we're heading to Florida Wednesday morning! I'll be looking forward to meeting all you wonderful people.

I'll have a few extra lime green Mickeys along in case somebody couldn't get one, I think I have four.

I still don't know what I'll be wearing to sailaway, I'm 49 and have shoulder length blond hair and will be wearing that green Mickey unless my luggage goes astray!

Be safe everybody, and I'll see you Saturday!
