Anyone on Magic Eastern 9/20/03?

FirstMagic - 30 years! Excellent! No, congratulations to you! Even though we've been married 5 it feels like 30! :)

I have a quick question, for dining my docs read "main" I had specifically asked for late dining because it is just the two of us. Does anyone know what main means? Thank you in advance.

I'm almost finished packing!!!

Main means early, but from what I've heard you won't have a problem switching to late onboard. Main is usually more in demand.

You're almost finished packing!?! Now you're freaking me out, because I just have a huge pile of stuff I've been collecting for the last few months. I haven't even thought about actually packing anything yet!

Hello there.

My DH and I will be on the cruise as well, it's our second one, we did the 7 day land/sea western caribbean cruise in July of 2000 for our honeymoon. We're 24 and 27 and from Seattle, no Kids. :) This is our first cruise as Vegan travellers but I hear from others on the forum that it should work out okay.

Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!

I have mentally packed - does that count for anything?

I have plenty of Pak-Mates ready and waiting to be stuffed. With the chance of strangers (security) rummaging through my bags everything is going into some kind of plastic bag.

Don't freak until you begin the single digit dance - that's when you can start to panic :D :D

Welcome PC Bakers (Cheri)!

My DB (Cindybeth's DH) is also Vegan, will be sailing with us and has sailed with Disney before. I'm sure she can answer any questions you may have!:p

Welcome PC_Bakers!

So everyone's okay with Sailaway Deck 10, right? Be sure to have your ALIEN GREEN mickeys! I love the idea of making a pin out of them!

What excursions has everyone booked?

For those of you with kids, are they getting restless? I know I am...still 9 days of school left before we leave!

Has anyone ordered w/ The Perfect Gift? Dad and I are surprising Mom and Aunt with a basket.

So I guess I'll see you all on board! See ya real soon!

I plan on meeting up on Deck 10 at the sailaway (that starts at 4:30, right?) I was going to look for one of those plastic "make your own button" things at the craft store, but if I can't find what I'm looking for, I might just paste the paint chip Mickey on a firm piece of cardboard and cut it out with an X-acto knife. (You'll know me as the lady with the bandaged fingers then! :)

I was reading the "Anyone apprehensive about meeting other DIS'ers?" post (because I am, who isn't?), but it sounds like such fun to meet a lot of new people too. One of the ideas somebody had was a wine and cheese (or soft drinks and snacks!) party on "secret deck 7" on Sunday afternoon and that sounded like fun, maybe if we get off to a good start at the deck party we could plan another little meet like that? Anybody?

The only excursion we have booked is that pirate snorkle boat in St. Thomas, I think it goes to Buck Island. Hargrh! We'll be Pirates of the Carribean! Has anybody been on it? It looks like some good and silly fun.

I better pack, some of you are waaaay ahead of me!

I'll do my best to get the "green mickey" from HD, but if that doesn't work I'll try to make one. :)

This may be an odd question, but what is the Sailaway? I assume it's an event after we leave the port and we all meet on deck 10. (Where on deck 10, the lobby area?)

Any advice on what to tell Disney with regard to the Vegan thing? We told them already that we're vegetarian, but the disney rep said that was as specific as we could get. I read the Vegan thread earlier but any specifics on how to handle it would be great.

I think it would be great to meet some people on board!

The only excursion we've booked is the eco-hike on St John, being nature types.

Cheri,

The Sailaway is the Sail-Away Celebration or Party @ 4:30 at Goofy's Pool which is on deck 9. It's where they have a band and the Characters dance, it's alot of fun!!!

My dh is a Vegan for medical reasons, so we had a form to fill out with a doctor's signature and we faxed it in. Before I had mentioned it was for medical reasons, we were also told that there are plenty of vegetarian options on board.

We went on a 3 day Disney Cruise less than 2 years ago and we sent in the form last time as well. And they really tried to take care of him and what he was eating, that was really nice!

I'm going to try laminating the green Mickey's head and putting a pin thru it. I will have to see how that works!!!

I like the idea of meeting on Secret Deck 7...but recent cruisers have said that at times it is closed...so I'm not sure how that would work. I think it would be cool! I'm all for being in charge of the cheese/snacks...Hello, room service? I'll have 5 All Hands on Deck... Although I wouldn't dream about getting the wine. The day the cruise ends I'll only be 1 week away from being 15...so that wouldn't work.

I think I'll cut out the mickey part of the samples and pin them with a few green and white ribbons. With a sharpie I'll probably write on the front 'DISboard Meet. Eastern Magic. September 20, 2003. Rory.'

At first I was apprehansive about meeting DIS members on my second cruise, but I met plenty of lifetime friends and it was great seeing them on board.

So only 10 more days!!!! I'll be seeing you all at 4:30pm, deck 10. We'll meet right over the Goofy Pool?

PC_Bakers - Welcome neighbor!!

I would love to meet on Deck 10 at 4:30PM for a DIS meet!! The secret deck meet would be awesome too. Point me in a direction and I'll go! :)

DH gets his suit altered and I get everything back from the dry cleaners this week, and we will be so there!

Getting down to the wire! Re read your notes and check off your checklists the adventure is ready to begin! Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride and do not exit until it has come to a complete, and full stop. Thank you! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Tink4goal, you are only 14? You are a very mature young lady and I really enjoy reading your posts. I cannot wait to meet you! We were thinking of doing the dolpin encounter but it is like, 7 hrs, so we may just end up taking a taxi and touring the Islands that way. We love to cram in as much as we can so we are always speeding away doing 5 things at once. I think it is the coffee... :)

Tinkerbell (and all!),
If we do have a Secret Deck 7 Party we can all just bring whatever we like to drink, Coca-Cola and Cheese works for me, as does Milk and Cookies, or even Lemonade and Whatever-Room-Service-Has-For-Snacks. :)

Or maybe we could have a Very Merry Un-Birthday Tea Party, to celebrate Tinkerbell's real birthday not quite falling on this cruise?

... :)

I think we are in for a fun group as I was thinking the exact same things as I was reading these. I am getting so excited! If I could only get throught work without driving my co-workers crazy becasue i am going on vacation and they are not.

See you soon....

Tux has been ordered, suitcases are out of the closet, Home Depot had lots of lime green Mickey's yesterday, We are so ready to go. I will be wearing a white hat and will have my lime green Mickey on the hat. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Michele

First Magic what a great idea! A very merry unbirthday would be awesome!!

Happy Dancin' w/ CindyBeth and everyone else! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hey FirstMagic, DH and I are also celebrating #30! As well as his 53rd and our friend's (who is also sailing with us) 47th birthdays, all on 9/26! Should be a blast!

BelievesinMagic, we changed our dinner seating on our March cruise, very simple to do, you won't have any trouble. Just go to the Route 66 if that's where they're doing the Palo ressies, and ask for the dinner seating change. Took all of 60 seconds!

TinkerBell.....our excursion is the St. John's Trunk Bay Snorkeling, only thing we have booked. The rest of the time will be spent near the pool with some bestsellers.

I can't wait to put some faces to names from this board in 10 days. See you all soon!

Coleen, Dennis, Louis and Jane

With all these events happening it should be A Very Merry Un-Birthday, Birthday, and Anniversary Party...that way we all have something to celebrate!

We were thinking of doing the French Riviera Beach Rendevouz on St. Maartin, staying on the side of the beach where you must wear clothing. We definetly want to try something on St. John's but their are so many choices!!!!

Cannot wait to meet all of you!!!! Only NINE more days...I can't stand it...and neither can any of my friends...or was it that they can't stand me for missing school? Hmm....

Sounds like people might be up for that Very Merry Un-Birthday/Birthday/Anniversary meet on Secret Deck 7, and I was thinking it might be better if we try and meet Monday afternoon, its a sea day, and it might be better than Sunday afternoon which is right before the big formal night.

I was looking through the Personal Navigators that Dave has posted on his site to see what was scheduled for that cruise in the afternoon (no guarantees it will be the same for our cruise though), but how does 3:45 sound? Or would 4:00 be better for the bingo players? Or am I missing some event in there, the print is kind of tiny so that's a definitely possibility for my tired eyes!

I thought it might be nice to have another little possible meet scheduled in case some people miss the sailaway gathering (get to ship late and are still organizing, fall asleep in cabin, family wants you to explore the ship with them, etc.)

Please, any ideas? I'm just tossing this out as a possible. :)

Tinkerbell... you said sometimes Secret Desk 7 is closed? (for high winds at sea perhaps, or safety reasons when the ship is "under sail"?) Do you know of any other good gathering place on the ship? Does anybody else who's been on the Magic before or knows her well have any suggestions?

Happy Anniversary to you, ColeenD!!!

Gotta go apply the 50% rule to the packing now, 2 tops have suddenly multiplied into 2-many. Then I can happy dance too! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

P.S. Does anybody know when the formal teas are scheduled?

FirstMagic - Mon. 3:45 pm sounds good to me. I thought of playing bingo, but since they play quite often I will plan it for another day, no prob! Will this be a B.Y.O.C.T party? (Bring Your Own Cheese Tray. :))
