Anyone on Jenny Craig?

Thanks, Belle....I really hope maintain while I'm on the cruise. I'm going to load up on the fruits and veggies. But it is vacation, so I will have to taste some things and have a little splurge now and then. Then it's right back on it when we return.

Did you have a trip report or planning journal? I'm wondering if I read it?

i just joined jenny craig!!! i am doing the at home program and im suppose to get my food on tuesday. im a little nervous because of the money it cost, so i am hoping i stick to it. im excited to see this thread!! i use to spend my time on the wedding and honeymoon forum. and since our disney wedding/honeymoon in aug i gained 15 pounds:scared1: so i def need to get that off plus i would like to lose another 30 on top of that!!! we are going back to disney the end of aug for our 1st anniversary and i want to be at my goal weight by then. esp since it will be hot and i would love to be able to put a bathing suit on and buy some cute clothes!!! im excited to start my new diet on tuesday!!! wish me luck!! im hoping its as easy as everyone says!! :wizard:

Welcome!! If you have any questions, I am a Centre Director as well as a client of Jenny Craig. I have lost about 10 lbs and 9 inches since starting with the company and I am on maintenance!! It's such a healthy lifestyle.

Nothing new with me girls, I am still maintaining...I float between 144 and 147. I am really looking to get active, but still struggling with it. My schedule is so crazy and I won't go to a gym. I did just buy the tricords and a girl that I work with is giving me a copy of Yoga Booty Ballet...so we'll see. Glad to hear everyone is doing good! I am going back to eating my maple nut hot cereal now :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone...

Belle - good luck with your first week. I know you will love it and have great results. We are here if you need anything though...

Jackie - congrats on the great start!!!! 6 pounds is amazing... you definitely have the right mindset for your cruise and we will be here waiting when you get back to hear all about it...

Mandy - my JC consultant last night was telling me about the tricords... she said they were really good. I had been using the walking DVD's (which were great) and just bought one of the Biggest Loser workout DVD's which has been kicking my butt... the exercise is really paying off though because....

I lost 4 pounds this week.... :cool1:

I am convinced it is because of the exercise I have been doing, so now I am hooked. I must exercise every day...:yay: :yay: otherwise I don't feel as good as I do now...

Here's to a great week everyone...
Goof

I've been on JC for exactly one week! I'm doing great and loving it. I had my first weight in today and lost 3 lb's. I have 17 more to go to reach my goal. I can do it! I am trying to drink more water and get on the elipitical more often. I don't feel deprived at all though and really like the convenience of the Jenny food. Best of luck to everyone!

i have a question in the book it says 1 cup of berries is a serving of fruit but on the back of my menu it says 1/2 cup so if i wanted to have strawberries or melon as 1 fruit what would i have 1 cup or 1/2 cup:confused3 and i dont see bananas mentioned so what would be equivelent to 1 fruit a whole med banana or 1/2 banana TIA
~joanie

I am not totally sure, but I count a regular sized banana as two fruits.

1 cup of berries is a fruit...on the back of your menu is what is called limited FREE foods. If you are extra hungry or need/want to add something to your JC meals, you can do this. Strawberries, Cantoloup and Watermelon are 3 fruits you can have but they are only have cup servings. Also with your LIMITED free foods, you can only have up to 3 servings per day. Sugar free cool whip is my favorite limited free. I put it on lemon cake with blueberries!!

I bought the Biggest Loser Workout DVD from Season 1. You don't need any special equipment other than some small handweights (3 - 5 pound range depending on how comfortable you are). There is a warm up and cool down segment, two cardio workouts, two sculpting workouts and a bootcamp workout on the DVD. You can customize your workout by picking which combination of segments to do. I am getting quite a workout from the low intensity cardio and the sculpting ones now. I am not sure when I will move on to the high intensity cardio as that one involves a lot of jumping and my doctor doesn't want me doing that yet because my excess weight may damage my knees. Hopefully, someday I can do that, but until then, I'll be happy with the low intensity workout. It still kicks my butt and makes me sweat...

The Leslie Sansone walking DVD's available at the Jenny Craig centers are excellent too. I switch things up between the 2 mile brisk walk w/ weights and the BL DVD to keep things interesting. The important thing is that we get out there and move... it all becomes a formula of calories in vs. calories out.

Good luck,
Goof

These are excellent DVD's unfortunately they have been discontinued in the Centre's. If you don't have them, I would recommend grabbing them soon!

Belle - I felt the same way you did when I started the program. I couldn't get over how easy it was. I still can't get over that... The food is yummy and don't be afraid to try new things, they may surprise you. I am not a big bean eater, yet I love the lentils with beef entree. It reminds me of beef stew. Use one of your limited free options to add a little bit of sour cream to it and it is just yummy... OK - now I am hungry... off to eat my breakfast...

Have a great day and a great weekend everyone... I am out of town for the weekend so may not get to check in as often...

I agree! Try stuff you normally wouldn't.

My favorite is the Cheesy Enchilada (but I HATE tofu!!). Mix it all up together and add a bit of salsa and fat free sour cream. YUM!

Thanks Goof! I'm hanging in there with week #2. So far so good. I do like the food and do have a few favorites. For breakfast I like the scramble or the sunshine sandwich. For lunch I love the turkey burger. I doctor it up a bit with sauted onions and mushrooms. There are so many dinner entrees that I like it is hard to pick just one to mention. The chicken fettucini comes to mind though. It goes great with a side of cauliflower. I have had a few flops too. I didn't like the meatball stuffed sandwhich or the potstickers. I ended up turning my second potsticker entree into soup with chicken broth, celery and carrots. It was much better as a soup. Anyway good luck to everyone. We can do it!

Thanks for the suggestion on the potsticker soup... these were not my favorite either, but I have a box sitting in my freezer and I hate to waste good food. I see a chinese soup in my future....

That's why you have to love these boards... you get some good ideas from what others do...

Have a great weekend everyone...

I totally agree with trying things you normally wouldn't eat. I have NEVER in my life eaten tuna fish or chicken salad and I LOVE the JC ones! They are some of my favorite lunches!! I don't really like mayo, so maybe that is why? I'm not sure, but those things are great!

Leaving for vacation tomorrow. Will try my best to make good choices and will be right back on program when I return. My plan is lots of fruits and cereal at breakfast, salad at dinner, and a sensible portion at dinner. My consultant is calling tonight. He said we will go over a few suggestions tonight too.

Have a great week!

OH, I lost another pound this week! 7 so far in three weeks!
