Anyone NOT impressed by Palin?

Word on the street is she is tough and can hold her own. The VP debates will be awesome to watch. Watch out Biden.

Palin has executive experience. This is more experience than Obama and Biden.

OK...20mos as the Governor of Alaska doesn't not work as executive experience on the level as what is needed for a VP who very possibly could be President. I don't have so much with the lack of experience as to what type of experience it was.

If McCain has a heart attack in office (which is a possibility- he is 72 years old) I shudder to think of Palin taking over the presidency. She seems to have no specific qualifications for presidency. That's just my opinion.

I think many share your opinion, but I am confused by the double standard. Obama has little if any more experience than Palin, and yet he is running for President. :confused3

Not impressed.

And by the way, 72 is not old. My dad is 83, the man is as active as he was 20 years ago. Actually, since he no longer sits behind a desk, he's more active. Palin may be no closer to being President as Joe Biden is.

I'm wondering if some of those who "love" his choice are thinking that his choice of her just sealed it for Obama.

I wasn't impressed by Palin. I found that she didn't really know what she was doing (deer in the headlights look) and that McCain couldn't get away from her. I don't know. Just so you know, even young men have heart attacks. How old is Obama?

I do. I was inspired by the Obama speech last night and this morning I'm relieved that McCain just locked the Presidency down for him.

It's a good day! :thumbsup2

Very, very unimpressed. McCain is making an obvious attempt to gain support from women democrats unhappy about Hillary. Well, I may have wanted Hillary, but I'm voting for Obama. So, I didn't fall for it!

I agree with the previous poster -- this can only help Obama.

I am not impressed. I didn't hear her speech - just heard some info about her on the radio. OF COURSE she comes across "poised and confident" (as a previous poster put it)! Hello? She was a pageant contestant! When was the last time you heard of a beauty pageant contestant who was inarticulate and lacked confidence? :confused3

I had never heard of her before today. I don't know if she will help or hurt McCain. Whatever. I am not going to vote for them.

Not impressed at all. She's my polar opposite in beliefs.

On one hand I think it's great that he picked a woman, on the other hand, I think it reeks of desperation.

this is what I was thinking!!

I'm not. Obama pointed out McCain's lack of judgement last night. This choice, the very next day, couldn't have demonstrated that lack of judgement more clearly. He'd have been better off with a known VP choice instead of an unknown one.

I'm doing research on her now because I don't have clue one about her. So far I'm not impressed. A nice little career, that's true. But not worthy of the Oval Office in any respect.

I absolutely agree. Oh wait, I thought you were talking about Obama when you said that. My bad.

She was a beauty queen. I can hear those ads now. Beauty queens aren't particularly thought of as intelligent woman.

No offense to any beauty queens here.

I am surprised by the choice. I think if she was the PTA president or running for the school board, I would be impressed. As a candidate for national office? Not really impressed. I am not looking at it as VP, but rather as the possibilty of being President.

I don't have an opinion about her as a candidate. She's was clearly chosen to skim some of the Hillary vote. And I'm annoyed how the announcement was made the morning after Obama's speech, but that's politics folks.

I think Obama is 46...and of course young men have heart attacks, but it is much less of a concern at 46 than 74 and I'm sorry, but when Mc Cain announced Palin, my very first thought was "It isn't such a stretch that she might wind up in the Oval office" and I agree 20 months as Govenor of Alaska isn't good enough to give me any confidence in that possibility.

I was an Undecided before Mc Cain's pick and I still am.

Some things never change... Women putting down other women. :sad2:

So just because I'm a woman I need to support everything they do? We can't have an opinion of a PERSON. Um, I don't think so.
