Congrats on passing the ROFR, but don't hold your breath just yet. We passed the ROFR on April 16th, and still have not had closing yet........:rolleyes1

More like insane.......;)

We past our second closing date now, first one was 5/14 then again on 5/28. My DW called the closing company yesterday afternoon and found out we might not have closing for another week or two, somekind of mix-up with the paperwork on the sellers end of the deal.........:rolleyes1

U still have not heard Corky ? I submitted the same day, I was hoping today 05/29 would be it 10 days out. But the holiday might slow things down I think.

I've been waiting to close since 4/18. We purchased our contract at TTS on February 26th! It seems the sellers won't return the documents for us to close. DH just says give them more time. :( Maybe if we wait long enough, we can forget it and buy the new villas at the Contemporary :)
I didn't think we'd be waiting this long!

More time that is messed up. Its not that difficult to sign pieces of paper.
 
1st contract just closed last week - and I got an e-mail from member services, today.

Grandbuddy #2 - or what I fondly refer to as SSR 2.5, after four unsuccessful attempts to make offers on the second contract (sellers wouldn't call the agents back!) is as follows:

170 points SSR, December UY, @ $78 per point. 42 banked '06 points; '07 points banked into '08, so 340 points as of 12/1/08. Buyer pays closing and GMAC fee.

We'll be in "waiting" status for awhile, as I got my contract by e-mail today, but the sellers contracts are going by snail mail.
 
I'm glad we just decided to purchase direct from Disney too. We have ressies at AKL in Oct. but were hoping to switch to DVC and the longer we were waiting the more we thought to just buy direct. We knew we wanted the extra points anyways - we were just going to wait and do another resale - BUT with the current incentive it didn't make too much of a difference. Now we're waiting on paperwork for both!!! I'm going to start pulling my hair out soon!!! :headache:

Not sure what luck we'll have getting any DVC rooms in Oct. at this point anyways.

I knew re-sale took longer but this is getting crazy - our first contract the sellers backed out of so it's been even longer.

YAY!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes We got the news today (May 30/08 at 1:33 PM) from GMAC that Disney waived their rights on our resale contract. :banana: :banana: We found out today that our contract was submitted to Disney on May 9th. I hope this information helps any others here get an idea on how much longer they may have wait. :hyper:

We now are one step closer to OWNING 160 AKL points UY April with all 160 points banked from 2007. Plus the sellers paid closing costs and ALL 2007 and 2008 M fees already with no expectation of being reimbursed.

WE CAN'T BELIEVE OUR LUCK :goodvibes :goodvibes and we can't wait to head to WDW :moped: We look forward to learning and sharing with the group here on DIS. :banana: :banana:

Hi Donald, we paid $13,000.00 USD total but after converting to CDN funds we only paid $12870.00 because the CDN buck was at .99 cents for one US dollar when we converted funds. :cool1:

We were also told by a few people that we probably got this deal passed through because we live in Alberta Canada and Disney may possibly have took into consideration that they are not legally allowed to sell timeshares here. :faint:

We HAD to buy resale or actually be in the states or Ontario to buy them from them. :confused:

Is that a good deal? All I know is that when we called GMAC we were calling about the AKL contract for sale on their webpage for 160 points, the seller was asking 13500.00 it had 80 2007 banked points and 160 2008 points. The UY was March.

Rachel then told us she just got another AKL contract in about 2 hrs ago and its not even up on the website yet, she gave us all the details which I posted already earlier and I gave her our credit card number right there on the phone for the deposit. I didn't want to jinx it so we said NOTHING about it on the board here until we passed ROFR.
