Anyone know how much a hot water tank costs???

It looks like ours might be on its last leg. Looks like it is starting to leak. I think its about a 40 gallon one?? I have no idea! Any thoughts of how much for replacement??

We were looking into this as well. It seems that everytime one of the four people took a shower in our house it was always cold.

We were looking at 40 gallon replacements. At Lowes/Home Depot, there was a range. The prices were about $240-425! Huge range!

And then it was the install price. My dad does some contractor work, but not plumbing. It would have cost us about 175-250 to install.

We decided to try a water saver showerhead.. that solved our problem. (for the time being!)

Or even better -- our next door neighbor had a second 75 gallon tank installed and connected the two with a continual flow, so they don't even have to wait the couple minutes for the water to get hot. They were finding out that the upper rooms of their house were taking too long to heat up and it turned out to be cheaper to do this than it was to replace the original tank with a larger one.

Just hope you have a regular hot water heater & not a "vent-less" one. The "vent-less" ones cost $$$, close to the $400+ range.

When I build my next house I am having a 250 gallon commercial tank put in for the extra large jacuzzi

We just had one put in 2 weeks ago-40 gallon, propane. It was $595 and $60/hour labor to put it in.
