anyone know about vein stripping

Hi-

Not planning to going to Disney real soon, but hoped you could help.

About 9 days ago I had a vein stripping proocedure done on my left leg. My leg is still very sore. There is swelling in the calf. It is also tight and feels like it is on fire.

Just looking for someone who is familiar with the procedure. My doctor says everyone recover differently. I was just hoping to swap some stories.

Hi,

I had this done about 10 years ago, for severe varicose veins. Hard to remember exactly everything from that long ago, but let me think. I do remember my leg having moments of burning, and there was for at least the first week or two severe pain (though the drugs they gave me were great -really made me goofy! ). I also remember that the leg had terrible swelling and bruising -when the took off the bandages for the first time (leg was wrapped) I thought I would pass out from the way it looked! I think it took 3 weeks before I started feeling better and 4 before I was more like myself.
