We were planning to take my kids down for a Youth Education Series field trip @ Animal Kingdom on November 2. Sadly, the other family that was going with us had to cancel. I have five kids, if we can get 5 more we can still go. There are no individual enrollment spots at that time.

It would be Disney's Wild by Nature on November 2 and your discounted park tickets could be used at any time seven days before or after the program. We have done several of these over the years and they are always very good as well as a chance to save lots of $$$ on tickets. Ticket prices are about 60% off the adult gate price.

I'm not a made up group. We have a homeschool support group that we let anyone join who "homeschools or wants more information about homeschooling." I've done several trips with them, Disney considers us an "organized group."

They used to allow this but not anymore. You have to provide extensive documentation now to prove you are affiliated on a year round basis.

To anyone interested: sample lessons, resources for inexpensive or cheap curriculum (we share via a list email) reviews of homeschool accountability groups in our state, field trip guides for local and farther off sites that members have visited, monthly meetings for local members, etc. I guess the implication is that I invented a group solely to try to recruit people for cheaper Disney tickets? Not the case - although our last trip was February 2011. Also, why bother with some subterfuge when you could just go during individual enrollment a few weeks earlier? As I said, I had a planned trip with 10 kids, in November to be there to attend the MNSSHP on 11/1 as well, and some cancelled. Everyone I already have in membership, has indicated they can't go on that date. I thought disboards might be a good place to find someone compatible to join us. The alternative is to scrap the AK program, pay a little more, and enjoy the wealth of other opportunities in the parks for educational enrichment.

I think it's so nice that you offered up your open spots to us DISers! I wish I could take you up on the offer, but we can't go in November. I hope you find someone! :thumbsup2
