Anyone in the Spring 2008 advantage progam?

Neither can I! I'm going to spend all my free time between now and then rereading all the same information I've gone through millions of times already. It's exhausting.

when will the presentation be up? i guess for me it gives me more time to decide what i want to do and if i want to do it lol. i gave them my email for newsletters and whatever and i havent gotten a response with anything so maybe its too soon?

will this be anyones first time away from home?

This will be my first time away. I comuted to college and lived at home. I have been away from my family on like week long vacations but nothing as long as this. I am the oldest so it will be hard. I hope it will all work out though. My family I know would try to come and visit at least once (they want to take advantage of the free park addmission). Plus my b/f said he wants to move with me too, he might apply to UCF. I also have a friend that I met in college who I am really close to apply to the program as well. We are hoping to room together too. I am hoping that with all that I will be ok.

does anyone know if there is a disadvantage to viewing the E presentation over going to another college to see the program? The issue I have is that I'm student teaching so it might be hard for me to just leave school early to make it to the presentation at a college but when I was filling out the application it said something about the date for the E Presentation was 1/1/08 yet it takes like 5 wks to get your notice if you made it or not and the program starts the end of the month. Anyone know anything about it??? soo much drama lol.

The E-Presentation isn't actually on 1/1/08. You just watch it whenever they finally put it up (hopefully it should be up soon since the application is up already), and then within 48 hours you have to call and schedule your phone interview. So you should be done with all of that well before 1/1.

Also, from what I hear there is really not any advantage to going to an actual presentation since most of the interviews are done over the phone now?

I don't think that there is any disadvantage to doing one over the other. I have done both (I did the live interview my first CP, and did the E-Presentation my 2nd CP- had to so I could audition). Both times I was accepted. The only thing that I could think would be a better reason for doing the live presentation is that the live presentation has a recruiter and alumni there to talk to. Other then that, they both work fine.

thanks :) I just didnt know if there was a better way of doing things b/c when my roommate went to the presentation she gave them a resume with her materials so I didn't know if that is helpful but then again they ask for previous employers so maybe that doesn't matter anymore

so what is everyone doing, the E Presentation or the presentation in person??

I will be attending the live presentations. But I won't be applying. I will be there as a campus rep.

Thanks!! It will make life much easier when my roommate goes down there this week bc then I can bug her and not you poor people lol. I'm sure I'll have lots more questions!!

I know Ive never been, so you don't want to hear my answers... but I just want to let you know my experience with the application. I had to change some dates on mine and when I went in to change them certain fields are grayed out where you can't change them online. One of these is the presentation field. I chose E and wouldn't have been able to switch it to the other. Don't know if that works both ways.

Then again, you could probably call and get it changed. But someone else would have to answer that like you've said.

oooh good to know thanks. I'm just not sure with me being in student teaching if I'm allowed to leave school early for something like that and I don't start my class until next week and I'm very excited and want to apply now but I don't want to go through the hassle of having to change stuff around so maybe I'll email my advisor and ask him if it would be okay to leave school early.

Thanks tho!!
