Anyone in the Spring 2008 advantage progam?

yay mine is on wed!! I got the email about the info but i'm confused cuz the email said that i need to fax my stuff in and they will contact me about an interview but i already have an interview and stated that to my email to them lol. i'm really starting to think they don't want me!!

My interview is tomarrow at 10 with Brian. I am kinda nervous, I really, really want to get in! :worried:
I am still sooo stuck on the roles. Im thinking Character Attendent, BB Boutique, Attractions, FS food, and Hospitality. I am soooo stuck, I want to get something that I am really going to enjoy! Any advice? :confused3

I hope the interview goes well.... I am counting on this to jumpstart my future, (I hope to become a Disney Wedding Planner) I dont know what I will do if it doesnt work out! I hope I do fine.

Lol Nicole, you will be fine!!! I stumbled over many of my words because I was so dang nervous. But in the end he said I had an excellent chance so we will see. Just read over the questions we were asked (mine are a few posts back) and prepare some answers so you feel more at ease. I put in for attractions, merchandise, vacation planner, costuming, and housekeeping. From what it sounds like, I may be put into housekeeping-but not sure at all.

:cheer2: GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :cheer2:

I know just how you feel! i feel like i kind of stumbled a little too, but my interviewer kept saying "excellent, excellent" that kind of reasured me. I got the same questions you did i think. It really, really helps to prepare ahead of time!

The interview is done. I'm a little bummed because I had my eyes set on hospitality but Michelle (the interviewer) said that the hospitality roles were normally reserved for upperclassmen and hospitality majors. The top three roles I listed were (with the exclusion of hospitality): Vacation Planner, Attractions, and FS F&B. She asked if I would be interested in Merchandise or QSF&B. I said that I would be interested in Merch but not QS.

Also, she asked if I was interested in Spring or Spring Advantage. When I replied that I was interested in the Spring program, she asked if I would be willing to accept SA if it were the only option available. I said yes, but ONLY if it were the only option available.

hey! i had my interview with michelle too! i thought it went pretty well! i was hoping for hospitality as well...but she told me the same thing she told you and then she really pushed for me to do merchandise! which, i told her is ok with me...anything but QS! she seemed really nice though...i just hope i did well enough in my interview to be accepted! she said they accepted around 4,000 students so that made me feel a little better about my chances! there was one question that i thought i could've answered a little better...but what can you do?! just hope and pray for the best!

hi guys! I have my interview tomorrow at 430 with Michelle too. I was set on hospitality with BBB and Character Attendant before that so I will have to choose between vacation planner and attractions as my next on my top 3. If she asks about merch or quick foods i'm going to reply with a no. I don't want a job I will be miserable at doing for 5 months. I also can't do advantange due to finding teaching jobs/interview for the fall so If I dont get accepted life goes on, but I'll try at least!

what question did you have trouble with???

she asked me what i would do if i was working in vacation planning and someone came to me upset because he bought tickets specifically to ride rockin roller coaster but it was closed the whole time he was staying at the park...i just thought it was a little hard because i didn't know what company policy is...but i told her what i would do if i was able to do anything in my power to placate the guest. hopefully it was an acceptable answer!

oh wow that is a hard one

i know jeff got some kind of question like what if a guest was looking for something but it was not on a map or something like that. i kinda answered that one but ahh i hate questions like those.

my interview it today!!!

i just thought it was a little hard because i didn't know what company policy is

They really don't expect you to know the policy. They just want to see if you can think on your feet and are willing to do something to help the situation. Wrong answers would be "I don't know", "I'd tell them 'too bad'". Stuff along those lines.

i had my interview today!!! with Michelle, but i guess there are multiple ones so who knows lol but I hope it went well. I tried to "sell" myself as much as possible lol. If you have any questions for me, let me know, my aim sn is tennischick2207 :)

I found out about a week ago that the presentation at my school is going to be on November 5th, so I have submitted my application and printed everything out. Now I am going to do a kind of resume of things that will hopefully appeal to them. I am starting to get butterflies in my stomach because right after the presentation I am going to have an interview. I just hope that I can get accepted into it alright. I am shooting for attractions or character attendant, but will be satisfied with just getting Merchandise. Those were the only roles I checked off. Any tips from those that have just had their interviews? I have to get the internship this semester or I will be really sad.:sad1:

Good luck! Just make sure that you smile during the interview (they can tell) and just have fun. Merchandise and character attendant are good roles (I have done both).

I don't know if I should apply for the character performer or not. I have a few years of acting experience, but I am 5'11 so I don't think that I will be qualified to even be a character. I don't know anything about the role either, other than you have to perform and interact with kids nonverbally. If anyone has done this role, I would greatly appreciate some tips.

Oh yes you do!

What one do I qualify for? I thought that you had to be either between 6' and 6'3" or 4'9" to 5'.

They emphasize those heights because there is a HUGE need for people in those ranges for the tall characters and the shorter characters.

You can audition if you are between those heights as well. Since most people are between those heights, they don't need to emphasize it as much.
