Because here I am at the end of 2 weeks and I'm not sure I'm ready to switch over to OWL. Thoughts? Advice?

I am still staying <20 grams of carbohydrates a day and I started in January. I sometimes go higher by eating more strawberries or eggs while on vacation, though.

I think I'll be on induction until I reach my goal (another 15lbs) if I eat more than 20 grams of carbs in a day I don't lose any weight. You have to experiement to see what your body does when you add carbs. Another option is to increase your excercise, but I usually only get 30min. of aerobic exercise a day, even though I'm on my feet all day long....except when I'm DISing!

I usually stay under 20 carbs. I have been on Atkins since 6/3. I think in a couple of weeks I will increase my carbs as I close in on my goal.

I did it for 4 weeks and then the fat fast. I am now back into Induction again.
My son has been doing Atkins since May 18th. 64 lbs now and he is still doing induction.
We are meat and potato people. We could eat meat all day but don't try and give us those yucky veggies. My boys never were big veggie eaters other than mashed potatoes, and since I stopped making gravy they don't miss the potatoes at all.
But we did give up the bread with meals, and al the desserts so we are basically eating the way we did before but less junk and more meat. Peggie

I am on my last day of my third week on induction - and I am sure I have been well under 20 carbs each day. I had a total loss during the first two weeks of 4lb - so it seems, for me, that I will have to keep the carbs low if I want Atkins to work for me. I have a lot of weight to loose - so it is a long road for me. I plan on staying on induction 'rules' for the next few weeks until my vacation to WDW. I have no idea how I plan on dealing with the trip - it is going to be a wonderful three weeks - but I am not sure I will be able to stick with Atkins!! When I get back from the trip it will be back to induction - until I get a lot closer to my goal weight which will be many many months away - I think I will need to stay on induction for at least 6 months.

I like the food I can have on Atkins - though I do still miss my pasta very much - so I am happy to stick with it - but only if I get steady weight loss - if I do not get the weight loss I will switch back to my low fat, low calorie diet. I realise that it will take me well over a year to loose the weight I need to and I will only be able to remain motivated if I continue to loose.

I think the decision to move to OWL should be based on how you feel about what you are eating on induction - combined with how much you have to loose - if goal is in sight for you it might be a good idea to move to OWL.

Hubby and I are still on induction. We started mid-june.

He will be ready to come off in probably another month or so. I have a lot more weight to lose than he does, so I will be on induction a little longer than he will. (I still have 50 plus pounds to go)

Just remember to allow yourself enough time to complete all the phases...increasing your carbs, etc so that your weight stays off.

Good luck!
