Anyone here remember a tv show called Growing Pains?

I was wondering if it still airs anywhere ?

Yep, I remember it. I recently looked for it on Netflix, but it wasn't there. I wanted to show DD how much Robin Thicke sounded like his dad. I found some clips on youtube. They look so much alike and sound the same. :goodvibes

That was Family Ties.

Totally off topic, but Kirk Cameron married a girl from my home town...when they had the wedding everyone was outside trying to catch a glimpse of him.

Oh snap.

I do remember it though. I guess not very clearly.:lmao:

Yep, he married his girlfriend from the show. His sister's show (Full House) is on pretty much every night on Nickelodeon. DD loves it. She's particularly fond of Uncle Jessie. :rotfl:

One of Leonardo DiCaprio's early roles was on Growing Pains.

I used to watch this all the time back in the day. I think this used to be on Netflix as I watched a couple episodes last year or the year before. Couldn't get into it again though.

Kirk Cameron was my first celebrity crush. I never missed an episode.

I wonder why some shows are harder to find on tv/netflix.

It depends who, if anyone, owns the syndication or rebroadcast rights.

The show that is hardest to find is The Wonder Years. I remember listening to an interview with someone who was in the television industry and they pointed out that it was because music was a big part of that show and when the original rights for that music was negotiated they didn't include the option to syndicate or release DVDs.

This, or course, is another example of stupidity in and industry that keeps clinging to old business models as I can right now pirate every episode of the show with one click of the mouse.

It is in there though I have seen it

Alan Thicke is now doing TV and radio commercials for a tax relief company. In one spot he talks about "Maybe you remember me from a show called Growing Pains" which sort of points out how long ago the show was made. I'm guessing a lot of people don't remember.

Heck - I remember Thicke of the Night. Makes me feel old.

It is on Netflix. We watched a couple of episodes, but determined that DD was still too young to watch it.

Loved this show when I was a kid. Tracy Gold who played Carol Seaver suffered from a rather public eating disorder and now works hard to help others who also struggle. She has stared in her share of Lifetime movies, as well. Kirk Cameron who played Mike became a very devout Christian and now is a minister/spokesperson for Way of the Master. He has also done various movies with Christian teachings and storylines. Leo DiCaprio, as another poster pointed out, got one of her starts on this show and we all know all that he has gone on to do.

The Wonder Years is on Netflix instant, so not that hard.

Yup. Remember it. I worked at an ABC station the last 3 years it was on. It was pretty awful.
