HOW IS it for you?

just been awful for me over the past year.

What would be better in your opinions? thanks!

Me and I don't like it, we had 2 lines - I recently cancelled mine *and happily paid the $200 fee* I'm now with Straight Talk using an iPhone and paying $43 a month for unlimited everything!

We still have the kids line, didn't want to pay $400 in cancellation fees! I may cancel that soon, their plan is $50 for less stuff then I get.

I've been with them since I first had a cell phone ~ they treat *most places do* existing customers like crap and offer new customers great deals.

I don't like the contract side of things, I was without contract for a couple years with T-Mobile but now am sucked in to at least another 18 months with them.

I paid for 3 months at once *lowered the price a bit - usually $45 per month* you find an iPhone *purchase or be gifted one, I'm using my mom's that was buried in her big sofa for over a year, it's older - the 3G, my DBF has a 4S he's doing nothing with, I need to order *wish you could buy them in store* the smaller SIM card... hmm I've heard you can cut regular SIMs ~ maybe we'll do that.

We recently switched from Verizon to Tmobile and so far so good.

Maggie

We've had Tmobile for 8 years - never had a problem.

They don't treat their existing customers any different than any other cell company...it just takes a little "persuasion" to get some extras. Thank goodness my DH is really good with that kind of stuff. We just got new phones free a bunch of service enhancements free. Can't complain!

We have Virgin Mobile Iphones and Android phones and could not be happier. They run on the Sprint network so we always have coverage. Travel a lot for work and have never had a problem. You get unlimited data with all their plan options too. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure. I just bought VM Iphones.

But if you unlock the Iphone, I believe you can use it. I know my friend took his android from Europe and bought a USA sim card and uses it on straight talk. He has no issues at all with straight talk.

Youtube unlocking Iphone 3G and you'll see how it's done. Also, youtube how to use Iphone 3G for straight talk and for Virgin Mobile and see what it takes to get your phone on those systems. I'd watch a few videos about it and read the comment sections and then decide if you want to go through with it. :thumbsup2

I started out with Suncom in 2003, then they merged to Tmobile. We've been with them all this time. I have had a couple of issues with them, but nothing major. I always just threaten to leave and go to Verizon and they correct the problem. :) Tmobile does have better service here than my husbands Verizon. Also, we still have our origional plan my parents got while I was in high school. Dads line is $80 a month for unlimited everything, and we have five lines under him $20 a month, unlimited. No way I'd leave since it's only 20 bucks a month.

I have been with TMobile for 8 yrs also. I have never had any major problems. The few little things they have always fixed without a hassel.

We just got our final tmobile bill in the mail. So glad to be done with them. We had 2 smart phones and 2 regular phones the bill was almost $200/month. The smart phones were never working properly. The marketplace was purchasing stuff no one ever authorized after two months back to back having to call to get the credit from the unauthorized charges we paid $150 to leave. We bought iPhones on eBay and a $100/ year plan for the one phone basically just to hold the number. Now we pay about $150 for the same number of phones, unlimited minutes and 3 of the 4 are smart phones. We ordered minutes from Walmart straight talk. I love paying for a few months at a time (we switched my husband a few months sooner than the rest) I love knowing exactly what I'm spending and not having a bill with all sorts of charges show up each month.

That's the best part of pre-paid...no hidden fees and no overages. I had an Iphone with AT&T for years and for that one phone it was $129 a month for 550 minutes and a data plan with no texting. Now, I'm on Virgin Mobile and my monthly charges are $30 for an Iphone. I couldn't be happier. DH's android is $25 a month...both phones together are $55...still $75/mo cheaper than just one AT&T Iphone. :cool1:

Several years ago I switched to TMobile and signed a 2 yr contract. I hated it! They charged me a ridiculous deposit fee ($500) which I wasn't aware of when we signed up. I argued with them over it considering we have excellent credit and history with other cell phone companies, I was mad. They refunded it after a year instead of at the end of the contract (but wouldn't have if I hadn't argued about it.)
The big problem though (besides the terrible customer service) was poor reception in many areas! It was very spotty.
I couldn't wait to switch back to Verizon and did as soon as possible!

Not complicated, my friend had to do that because his phone was from another country. Your phone is from USA and you want USA service, so you're fine. Just shop around with different carriers to see who provides service for your phone and at a cost within your budget. I believe with Virgin Mobile you have to have a Virgin Mobile phone. Not sure how straight talk works, do they provide service for Iphones? I know they do for androids, not sure about Apple. Also, price out the large carriers to see their prepaid no contract rates too.

thanks, i meant straight talk. I think i want to try straight talk w. my unlocked iphone 3g....

Not anymore. Had the worst trouble getting service in the US, but oddly enough had great service when I travelled to the UK (2-3 weeks/month and my work picked up the phone bill). Thankfully, I have neither T-Moble or that job anymore. :rotfl:

We have been T-Mo customers for as long as I can remember (lol), and have never had a problem. One month our DD went over significantly on our minutes - this was several years ago - to the tune of a $500+ cell phone bill ! After my heart palpitations subsided, I call T-Mo CS and explained my dilemma and shock - and because I had been a customer for years, they were able to take off 75% of the bill...which at that time left us paying pretty close to our normal monthly bill. This hasn't happened since as I upped her minutes to unlimited text/talk.

DH and I have "smartphones", and I just upgraded DD14 to a Samsung GS3 for Christmas that I scored big time from Best Buy Mobile for $119 , with an extended contract - but that's fine with me as I think their service is great. My only gripe is that they are not a carrier of IPhones. If they were, I may have one of those instead of my 'droid. But I don't have any complaints about my phone that I do have, so all is good :thumbsup2
