anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

Hi guys! I am doing well- 3 days running- I am so happy to be getting back on track.
Yesterday we went to see Shrek- then off to a celebration lucnh at The Rainforest Cafe, for my DS getting all As on his report card. They have NO nutritional info available at the restaurant (or on the web). What a nightmare. I was really good, though- I ordered something and took it home for DH instead of eating it. -I did take 2 bites- then stopped) Then my 3 kids split a volcano sundae. OMG- this thing is ridiculous. I had 3 nice big bites. SO SO DELICIOUS- I am proud of my self for stopping at 3 bites. No clue how many points that was- but that was my lunch, and I had low points for dinner and breakfast so I think I probably came in a bit under 22 for the day.

I hope you all are having a nice weekend- we have been relaxing and swimming and just enjoying each other's company all weekend- really nice. Now we have to get ready for DS last lacrosse game of the season. I am so looking forward to summer- no sports, no school, sleeping in! AHHHHH

We had an awesome weekend. Went to Mk on Saturday and on Monday. MK was a zoo on Saturday. It was like Christmas week revisted, lol. Yesterday the MK was empty in the am. The most we waited for anything was 20 min, and that was for Dumbo.

We ate supper on Saturday at T.G.I Fridays. That is another place that has no nutritional info available.

Yesterday for lunch we ate at the Concourse steakhouse. It was fantastic. I got the onion soup and the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. I ate all the soup, and stopped at half the dessert. I have to say that our lunch at the concourse steakhouse was about $10 less than our meal at Fridays. I was very surprised. Our bill for the 3 of us at fridays was over $40 plus tip. The meal at the concourse steak house was $28 something plus tip, with our 20% off DDE discount.

I had to laugh at the table behind me. The man said he is on a low carb diet and on the dining plan. He asked the waitress to help him pick out food. He ended up going with the primerib steak sandwich, onion rings, and the veggie pasta salad. I expected to see the fried part of the onion ring and the bread sitting on the side. But no, he ate the bread, breading, and the pasta. So much for low carb, lol. The waitress wasn't much help to him.

Good heavens- how can you be on a low-carb diet and not know that you need to avoid bread and pasta! A steakhouse should have been an easy place to get a low-carb meal.

It was really hard for me to bite my tongue, while she was helping to select his food.


My son is in PA for the next few weeks with his grandparents, so we have been enjoying eating out at all the places he can't because of his food allergies. I'm afraid to step on the scale this week, lol. Especially after the 5 pound gain last week.

Wow you guys have some great choices of restaraunts! Makes me happy we are in Alaska so I can avoid the temptation. I don't think we would ever eat at home with all those choices!

I was hoping to lose the weight I gained last week but I maintained. Oh well. I am blaming it on the sweet tea:rolleyes1 As soon as it gets warm I make WAY too much sweet tea and don't touch the water:headache:


So hang in there ladies!!! Onward and Downward!!!:)

Hi Dawn! I've done meetings before, twice actually, years ago, but I've been doing it online for over 3 years now, I think. :confused: Anyway, the meetings are great for once-a-week inspiration and accountability BUT being HERE is everyday, IF you choose. ;)

In the end, accountability to YOURSELF is the key! :goodvibes

I didn't go to the meetings becuase they were over 40 miles one way. I did do the online for the convenience. I did not see the results that others did who went to the meetings.
 
Hi Dawn- I can't answer your question because I have never done official WW - online or in person- but I hadn't seen you on this thread before so I just wanted to say:welcome: !

Having another decent day, I will weigh-in tomorrow and I think I will see a loss. I am at 13 points for the day so that leaves me with 9 for dinner and a snack. I think I will definately meet my goal for the day. I haven't exercised in 3 days though because I have been having cramps. Hopefully I can resume my walking on the weekend.

I'm an accountability gal myself! :rolleyes1 If I don't have to "report" to anyone, I find that I just simply don't self-monitor. :mad: Of course, everyone is different, so figuring out what works for you is the key! :yay:

Hi Dawn, welcome. I have never done the meetings, so I don't know. I'm doing the online and when I stick to my points, exercise and drink water I see great results. As soon as I stray, I'm back to square one. I have trouble with accountability. This board helps.

lovethattink!: I wish I knew the secret to my success. I definately had weeks where I ate less points and exercised more without losing this much- I think maybe my body is just finally getting ready to break through a 2 month platteau that I have been suffering through.

Tenthousand, doesn't that figure? I lost 7 pounds one week, and a different week lost 3 and I can't figure out what I did different those weeks.

I'm still holdin' steady - which I consider to be a victory right now. This time of year is busier and more stressful for me than the Christmas holiday season! :santa: :crazy2: As long as I don't start with a backwards slide, I'm doin' o.k.!

I've never been a WW member but I started counting points almost 3 weeks ago. I'm down 6 pounds. I'd like to lose another 20 if not 30.

I like counting points. I find it very fun and challenging. For someone who hates math I thought that was pretty ironic! :)

Of course you can join us! I am the same as you- I have never been an official member of WW but I find counting points relatively easy. I had great success with WW flexplan 3 years ago- lost all my baby weight. Then went off WW and gained back about 20 pounds over the next 2.5 years. This time I know it has to be a change for life- I can't stop watching what I eat- ever again. I am losing the weight very slowly this time, but I am okay with that.
Keep counting those points! I kind of like counting points too.
