Don't feel bad TenThousand! I had Mcd's twice this weekend too! My DH left today for 6 weeks so I took the kids to McD's. While I was in the drive through I was rear ended:eek: And of xourse after being on the phone with the insurance company I then had to call my DH ( and of course I was driving his truck):guilty: The best thing about my DH deploying or going TDY is that he misses us so much he doesn't sweat the little stuff:love: He just said have fun with the rental car:upsidedow

So hopefully tomorrow is a better day.:hippie:
 
Today was weigh in for me and I was up a lb. No big surprise after McD's twice. Trying to stay on track this week though!
 
Natenapril- I am up a pound from my McD's too- but my official weigh-in is Thursday so hopefully I can make some progress before then.

Is this thread too far into things for me to join? I was doing WW online, but am now doing it on my own with an excel spreadsheet to track points. I have never gone to meetings, and am looking for some sort of support / accountability system.

Well, I had my 1st weigh in yesterday and I am down 3.5 lbs! I was so happy to lose something. I always promised myself I would never get over 200 lbs, even if I wasn't dieting and I'm at 204, so hopefully I'll be in onederland in the next couple of weeks. Of course I'll keep going until goal weight.

It's easier doing it with DH although he's losing at a much faster rate. He still believes that eating like this for him will be permanant, so I'm happy.

Right now my goal weight is 150 and I lift my DD (40 lbs) every day to remind myself that this is extra weight my body has to carry around on a daily basis. It wakes me up and keeps me going.

Welcome! I tried online before and just wasn't for me. It's important to know what works for you. WISH site does help with accountability, so I try to come here every day. MY DH is also on the program too, so that really helps. I figure if things slip and I need help I'll try to fit in a meeting time and start going to those, but for now we're doing it on our own.

We'll be here to support you and you can definately get in on the other exercise challenges on the board. There's many WW support groups out there online, so just google it and you might find one that fits like a glove.

I learned that I have trigger foods that drive me crazy with eating. Those are donuts, cakes, and cookies. They no longer come in this house unless it's a birthday. Then I pack it up and send it with guests or it goes in the trash. I don't keep stuff around anymore. No ice cream either. If we want it we go out and get it from a stand. That way you have one serving and it's gone. No extras laying around the house. It's a learning experience for me.

Doesn't it always seem worth it? DH went to Arby's last weekend and I asked for the Martha Vineyard salad; which was good. It cost me 9 points and I said ouch, but I looked at the nutritional value. The salad provided me with more nutrients and natural foods, then a hamburger and french fries. I can see myself having a little of that in the future though. I'm trying to avoid it all costs now. I heard once you get rid of eating that fat fried stuff, that if you eat it in the future, it can give you bad tummy aches. Can you imagine what that stuff does? Makes you think.

Good luck this week. Hopefully you'll lose what you gained. Think positive and exercise.

Speaking of being accountable- I have a confession to make. I got wild with some M&Ms last night. I am having a hard time- the days I excersise I am getting so hungry. I speed walked 3 miles yesterday and did very well with my eating breakfast, lunch and dinner- then I lost it. Anyway, weigh-in is tomorrow and my flexpoints reset- etc...
So I will do my best today and strive for a perfect week starting tomorrow.

What is it about McDonald's this week???? :confused3 I went there on Monday and I never, ever go to McDonalds. Ever! :eek: I nearly fainted when I got home and looked up the nutritional info on a grilled chicken snack wrap :faint: and I ate TWO of them :sad: There went 12 points...woosh...and for what???? nothin' worth ever eating again, that's for darned sure! :scared:

I usually will stash a protein bar in my purse if I think that there is even the slightest chance of me being "out" at meal time...alas - we had no protein bars left. :headache: I will never allow myself to run out of protein bars again. :goodvibes

I have no idea what is up with McDonalds!! I am tempted to order a copy of Supersize me and everytime one of us craves McD's will mail it off:lmao:

My DH is coming home tomorrow for a few days. It is a four day weekend so a few of his classmates are making the 7 hour drive together. So I may not be on much!

DH was fired (:mad:) and the kids have been sick. And now its my turn to be sick...so this week as been pretty bad. Sorry not brighter news but thats the way it goes sometimes.

I'll get on the scale tomorrow and see where I'm at. Glad to be back w/you guys!

Sorry to hear that- I have had a bad eating week too. I would count points up until dinner and then usually I would eat too much dinner and then I would snack. Somehow I maintained.:confused3
I need to do something to refocus- usually a few good days of staying OP kicks me into gear- but I am having a hard time getting that accomplished.

:) Thanks for all the :grouphug:! DH will be ok he has a couple of side businesses he has always wanted to expand on so he decided it was time and just kind of let his job go. He just spent too much time on those side jobs and not his full time job (w/health insurance) and they got tired of it. I don't blame them...I'm upset w/DH for not discussing his intentions & ideas w/me. Health insurance is so expensive but we'll give this self employment idea of his a try...no choice.

We have 3 kids and I can go back to work too. After our 2nd child we decided daycare was too expensive for 2 kids. Now DS is in school but still would need daycare for DD4 & DD2 so it just doesn't seem to work out money wise. I'd be working to pay for daycare and I might as well stay at home. Now if I had a job/career I really enjoyed & I wanted to keep my "foot in the door" that might change things. Before DD4 was born I worked in Human Resources which I really liked but I was burned out...so many people would come talk to me about their problems and I liked helping them. But sometimes their problems were too huge and upsetting for me (domestic issues, substance abuse)...I felt more like a social worker then their benefits manager. It felt good that they liked me and trusted me w/their issues but it was stressful.

Anyway it looks like I'm up a pound but my usual weigh in is Monday so we'll see on Monday. We have company coming for the weekend so we'll see what that brings. As AKASnowWhite has already said Thank you to all military personnel and their families..thank you for your sacrafices!:flower3:
