Hi there and welcome to the boards! :) :)

You might get a better response to your questions if you post this on UK Trip Planning, and maybe do a different post for each question?

I'll help with what I can :)

2. I have flown with Brittania to Florida but it was 11 years ago so I don't think this will be very valid! However service was fine and legroom was - well you never have enough do you? It was no better or no worse than anyone else I've flown with :)

3. My friend has stayed here twice and really likes it (if I'm thinking of the right one) - is it a gated community of a Springhill Suites & Marriott as well as a Fairfield? If so she likes the fact there are different areas, quite a lot of facilities and the food court is good. I think she said it was pretty new so accommodation was nice and well kept.

4. You can ring Disney for these - from the UK ring 001 407 939 7529. You might want to arrange to "collect" them from Disney as it may be cutting it fine for them to arrive by post from the USA before next Fri.

5. I've NEVER been asked for ID but yes you may well be so it's proabably wise to take some. Like I say though, I never got asked.

HTH

have a fantastic trip :) :)

Hi there  and welcome to the DIS UK boards!

I'll have a go at answering a couple of your questions, but I'll leave the ones I'm not so sure of to someone else!
2. we are flying with brittiania to sanford, anyone flown with there with these? what is the plane like for legroom and service??
We've done this a couple of times, but not very recently. Britannia were fine for service, cabin crew, etc. on our flights, but the leg-room was pretty cramped. Sanford is quite a small airport, which makes it quite easy to navigate through everywhere, but there's a not a lot in the way of shops, etc. when you're waiting around on the return journey. We found the drive out from Sanford to the hotels in Orlando / Kissimee / LBV very straightforward, although further than from Orlando International.
5. do i need to show i.d if i use travellers cheques to pay for stuff?
Not usually. The only times you are more likely to be asked for ID are if you wish to spend a large note ($100, and maybe $50), but even then it just seems to depend on when and where you shop. There's less chance of being asked in the tourist areas than further afield in Florida.

We went with brittiania into sanford in february.
Leg room was fine, good service, comfy flight, cannot really fault them.
We were off the plane and in he car in under 30 mins.

Hi there,
We leave the day after you also flying out of Gatwick with brittania. We haven't used them before so no past experience to go on. I will add however that unless you have prebooked seats (at extra cost) they can't guarantee you will sit together and advise you check in early instead. They also prebook the extra leg room seats too so you may find these have already gone. This was a gamble we couldn't take so paid the extra, both our kids are under 5!! Hope you have a fantastic time Rachael

The US is changing over use of IDs.

I am just finishing a 2 week touring holiday of the US West Coast (I fly back from SFO in 16 hours:( ). Most hotels now want to see ID when checking in and even Walmart wants ID when using a credit card.

A picture driving licence is fine - I didn't bother carrying my passport around with me. Although one rather jobsworth Waalmart clerk insisted that they only accepted a "valid state issud driving licence". I stood my ground and said that "if she wanted to be pedantic, the UK is a sovereign state - it just isn't a US state yet!"

This may be different in FL as they see a muchhigher rate of UK tourist there and are used to them; therefore YMMV
