Anyone heard anything about a Poly DVC?

I don't know if this is the appropriate forum for this...

My DH has been on the fence for DVC for, quite literally, more than a decade (we looked into it on our honeymoon 13 years ago and have revisited the debate FREQUENTLY) but I've been sold on it lock stock and barrel this whole time.

Our last trip we stayed at the Poly and he fell in love - he'd always thought he would like it but staying there realized he LOVES it.

I saw some speculation on various blogs that there might be a Poly DVC resort coming. Mentioned it to DH and he said "that's the day we buy!" He didn't think BLT was "special enough" and GF is "too stuffy" but the Poly - he said even if it didn't *save* money on trips it would be worth it.

So... anyone heard anything more solid than some random blogger's speculation?

When it comes to Disney rumors, generally speaking those who talk don't know and those who know aren't talking. And plans can shift on a time--particularly when it comes to $100+ mil timeshare construction, sales of which can be dramatically impacted by the economy.

Poly and Yacht Club are the only two WDW Deluxe resorts with no DVC. It's a logical eventual destination. But in recent years there has been talk of DVC properties at Ft. Wilderness and several new stand-alone concepts.

With Grand Floridian not even complete yet, the absolute most optimistic timeline for Poly would be 4 years. That's if they break ground shortly after GF opens. Realistically it could be 10...15...20 years before they get around to it.

Poly would be at full price, where you could get great discounts on DVC points via resale for all of the current resorts. May be worth investigating.

True, and while I can see that there are other resorts that would be a great value and other DVC resorts I would like...this is the first one that Mr. W is willing to jump on without question. He's that in love with the Poly.

would not expect anything until at least 2018 - now may be wrong - but really think sales at GF have to be at least as good as BLT was - before Disney adds their guests favorite resort to DVC.

the polyn is suppose to go thru more of a complete rebuild than just the rehab it has had before.

so far not seem that Disney is doing that.
