Anyone having trouble with Jungle Cruise?

It took forever to load, but when it finally finished, it was just a blank screen. I went back to the JC room, and I see gas cans everywhere and huge boulders in the water. :confused3 Anyone else having trouble with this game? I have dial-up, and I've had a lot of problems today with loading the game and the rooms. *sigh* What a long VMK day.

ETA: Uh... yep, I think my problems are bigger than the JC game!

Has ANYONE ever had a bug like this? I don't know whether to  or :rotfl2: .

ETA: This is NOT a joke. I seriously wish it was. So if any computer geniuses out there could read my post on page 2 describing in detail what happened, maybe you can give me some idea of what might be wrong. :guilty:

;) LOL!!! No I have never seen that bug before.

But I did have problems loading rooms today. At times, I could actually do a load of wash in washer and dryer while waiting to get a room. Hopefully this problem is resolved tomorrow.

Wow that actually got me to laugh out loud for real! I will never complain about the animals poofing all at once again! You look like you started to play a game of jumangi in there! :rotfl2:

Edited to add: Actually it is very interesting as well since it shows you all the places in the room the gas and film has the potetial to show up.

You have a great point, Carrieberry. It basically gives you all the game scenarios laid over top of each other. Too bad it's currently worthless to me as Jungle Cruise won't work! :sad2: If that's the same tomorrow and stays that way, I... boy oh boy, do I have a problem. Host quests, single day quests, player quests, my own quest... I won't be able to complete any of them most likely. I really hope this problem is gone in the morning. :guilty:

And needless to say, I was not the player saying "It's wonderful up here!" No, not when standing next to a gator (or is that a crocodile?), it's not. :lmao: I asked a couple people in the main Jungle Cruise dock and in another room if they saw all the gas cans and rocks and animals, and they all thought I was nuts, I think. Ahem, *whispers in best Sixth Sense voice* "I see Jungle Cruise animals!" :rolleyes1

I had problems with the cruise game too yesterday, so I never got to finish the High School Musical quest.

I'm hating those stupid quests more and more every day.

Well, right now I'm mighty upset. I just checked the game, and I'm still having the same problem. Anyone have any advice on what I could do to fix this? I've tried deleting cookies, clearing temp. internet files, running a virus scan, running a spyware scan, and nada. Nothing works. I emailed VMK via the Contact Us button on the home page, but I have no clue how long it'll take them to get back to me. :sad2:

Curious, have you upgraded your Shockwave lately? Has it prompted you for an update that you may have installed?

ROFL :rotfl:

Oh my, I feel so bad for you! Ever since quests came out, I've really grown to hate that game. I hope the bug goes away soon :)

OMG, that is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Nope, sorry, I am not having this issue although many many times I cannot get the game to load at all.

Oh wow! Love those pics, had me :rotfl2:

Got to admit though, what a neat, easy way to get your 20,000 for a quest, all in one room! :lmao:

OMG! It reminds me of the movie "West World" when the people (characters) take over the game..Kind of scary.
I sure Hope CL_DocHT sees this since she is the Jungle Queen. :rotfl2:
I'm sure this will make her day. :thumbsup2

OMG! I have never seen that! I have had where the room will load slowly and thereby popping up all the animals almost at once. But never like that.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Not to be a nit picker, but those screen shots aren't even during the game! The map, mail, and shop buttons don't show during the game. Not to mention that someone is talking in one of the shots! I am confused!

Well the OP said when the GAME loaded it was a black screen and when the rooms were re-entered this is what they looked like. So this was not in the game, this was after the game loaded black and then the character walked back into the elephant wading pool, and other rooms that are part of the game. At least that is how i understood it.

OK Wait! Did the OP dc or reload vmk?
If they had the black screen, how did the re enter rooms? I thought I understood, but now I am more confused!

okay - first - if that is real - that is hysterical and sad all at the same time.
second - if that is photoshop at work - I LOVE it!

Hi hdmonkeybug. Let me try and explain it again (it's confusing, I know). First of all, I didn't DC and I didn't reload VMK. I did however exit the game and then enter as another character (the problem persisted). Cut off the computer and tried again and still no luck. Nothing has fixed it yet. :badpc: Now, to start from the very beginning:

Sometime between close Wednesday and opening Thursday, VMK must have updated their server again. I know this because every time this happens, the game takes at least 1 hour to load on my connection (AOL dial-up) and then each room takes between 5-7 minutes to load (the first time you visit them) as well.

I was plugging along, visiting all of the rooms to get them reloaded before I started the microphone quest again. I got through all of it, albeit slowly. Haunted Mansion and Fireworks worked, but took around 15 minutes to load.

I get to the Jungle Cruise dock. Nothing is abnormal. I click "Play game." I then go into the 10-15 minute wait for the game to load. Well, finally the blue bar went all the way to the right and then disappeared. However, the screen stayed black. Only thing on the screen was the bar at the bottom with the Q, Help, exit, Shop, etc. buttons and the dialogue box. I figured something was hung up, so I clicked on the globe/map button and re-entered the room. When I did, I saw gas cans in the rivers and boulders. Asked other players if they saw it, and they thought I was nuts, I think. Tried the game again. Same thing with the black screen and the dialogue box. Decided to quit for the time being.

Clicked on the map, and visited other rooms in Adventureland that are in the JC game just to get the rooms reloaded on to my computer. Well, they all loaded instantaneously. The problem was, animals, gas tanks, and film rolls were everywhere. This is the case in the Lost Safari party room, the Tiki Island, Elephant Bathing Pool, etc. Every room featured in that game looks like that. It doesn't look like that if I never try to play Jungle Cruise in that log in session. If I do, all the rooms look like that. And I also discovered today that it now also screws up all the graphics in Fantasyland as well (wipes out the sky in every room that has one so it's just black empty space), and prevents the Fireworks game from working (if I try and play Jungle Cruise, that is; if not, it's all fine).

Oh, and for those who are curious, the problem continues as of closing. I tried reinstalling Shockwave, but it only made it worse. I emailed the Black Hole, but Lord only knows how long a response will take. Prior to them updating the game, the Autopia Quest Track crashed my entire computer every time I entered it. That now causes no problems. And before the update that started that problem (the quest track one), the Sci-Fi Dine In would crash my internet. :sad2:

ETA: Disney Dreams, I wish it was Photoshop! :lmao: I would definitely not be offering a 10,000 credit shopping spree for microphones if it was a Photoshop job/joke. I'm too tight with my money, in real life and virtual life! :rotfl2:

It's either the the lack of sleep or the weather, but now my head is going to explode! I think I am more confused! NVM! Hope its fixed soon!

OMG - SorcererDonald - does your head hurt after that explanation? I think I actually get it though.

I have to tell you - if I had to wait that long for rooms to load - I would either get a new machine - get a better connection - or find another game. That HAS to be painful.

Find me tomorrow. Let's see if we can do something to help you with a microphone. I don't know what - but let me sleep on it and chat with you tomorrow. We will figure something out.

I sit hear screaming at my computer too much - I can only imagine what I would do if the entire Animal Kingdom were to take over my vmk rooms.

My head indeed does hurt. I had a headache for a long time tonight, but it had gone away. After trying to figure out a semi-coherent way to explain that, it's back again. And why do I feel like even my 1 long paragraph cry for help to VMK is going to be met with a response of "Go see a psychiatrist," or something of that nature? :rotfl:

I got a new computer a little over a year ago. It has 512 MB of memory with a 160GB hard drive (it's an HP). I don't think that's slow, but then again, computer science was not my best subject in college. AOL, however, I am convinced is the Devil's invention. :badpc: It's given me nothing but trouble in all 5 years I've had it. I've been looking into Broadband or something along those lines, but all the internet providers avaliable to this area want between $10-$20 more a month for the service than basic, unlimited use AOL. Not particularly helpful for a grad student. We're all starving :artist: after all, LOL. But that hour+ and 5-15 minute room load is nothing. First time I played, I'm pretty sure it took over 8 hours to load. I believe I went out to the movies, then went out to eat, then ran to the grocery store, then finally came home and it still wasn't even halfway finished. :rolleyes1

Disney Dreams, I would really appreciate that. Hopefully we can work something out. I had 2 but I traded them both away, thinking I could get more. Now I'm up the Jungle Cruise creek without a microphone (and I so wanted one for my baseball room). I can laugh about it, but especially when it first happened and again today when I saw it was still the same, I just wanted to cry. The quest drove me crazy and practically to tears when it was 50 ghosts (4 straight hours of failure on that Monday night), and then they changed it and I was oh so happy... only to not be able to play silly Jungle Cruise. And when I thought this morning that it had killed fireworks too... :sad2:

What I'm betting is the game won't work until VMK updates/does something to their servers again. Something must have gotten crossed up or some code got read backwards or something. I'm scared to ask what might not work after their next update though; if it's fireworks, I really will cry. :guilty:
