We are getting conflicting information (from boards and from our guide) in terms of what we bought (Kidani or Jambo House). Per our agreement, and from what I can tell, we bought Unit 64A but our guide says we are good on using our points asap because we did buy into Jambo House.

From Husband:

"L says we got into Jamba house and we are cool - use year 2008. I don't know what to tell you. She said the Kadani house is the one where people buy in and they can only use the points at Saratoga. I hope that is not the case for us. Maybe we need to call the QA people instead of L. I don't have that number though."

And the drama continues - it does appear that the points we have in the system (although we get June 2008 UY points) are indeed for Kidani Village and therefore cannot use them even with the cruise in December. Although our guide this morning did say we bought into Jambo House - my husband is calling her now because "something" is not right.

What determines when you can use your AKV points is the occupancy date of your Unit. Based on your Unit number (64A), your Unit is in Kidani Village and will have an occupancy date of May 1, 2009. If you purchased points in Jambo House your Unit number would be 56 or lower and your occupancy date would be no later than Jan 29, 2008 so the AKV points could be used now since you would be past the occupancy date in that case.

Google turned up 800-782-6767 as the number for DVC Quality Assurance.

From husband: I'm talking to L now. She has different info than what is on the contract. She is getting a QA person on the line.

Thanks for the number.

What we were told in terms of being able to use the points jives with getting the Jambo House. Apparently there is some sort of mix-up from what our guide has in her records of selling us and what our paperwork states. Honestly we never thought to look at the unit # because I was not aware of any restrictions on the points (probably because we were always informed we could use the points ASAP at any DVC because "they" thought they were selling us Jambo). Then I stumbled upon a thread on here a few days ago and that got me digging even further.

Our guide really is great and has never deceived us, etc. and I do believe she did her homework. We had questions about using the developer points and the points from 2008 UY on our upcoming 2008 cruise and I know she called Quality Assurance to double check with them before we purchased.

Are they giving out points for 2008 for Kidani village (i.e. is that normal) for other folks?

I'll let everyone know the outcome.

(Sorry for the double post on this thread as well as the AKV incentive thread but wanted to get the word out)

Ok - the saga continues now. We were just informed that "someone" screwed up in the sale to AKV to us. We ended up signing for Kidani Village and NOT the Jambo House that "they" thought we were supposed to get. After they started looking into this more "they" then determined that this apparently happened to a few more DVCer's then us.

So here is the latest - apparently "they" are trying to get an exception for us to use our 2008/2009 points now for the cruise we have scheduled this December. "They" are also going to be putting in exception requests for those DVCer's that were in the same situation as us (were told 'in so many words' Jambo house).

Now my concern is can they really make an exception like this? Aren't they "bound" to x number of points, etc. that can be redeemed and since Kidani is NOT open yet is this legal?

(I used "they" in quotations because I'm not sure who "they" refers to - our guide, Quality Assurance, paper processor, etc)

I know they messed up the names on our deeds and once altered we had a new unit number and occupancy date. Our original date was Sept 07 so we booked our developer points for the October but then our occupancy date changed to December. I thought nothing was said as the developer points are generic points and not restricted to a certain resort, also one night was waitlisted from our 08 UY which I guessed was ok as by the time our 08 UY started our occupancy date had passed??! All of the October booking went through well before we realised there was an error on the names on the deeds and nothing was then said about occupancy date and ressie dates I just assumed it was ok as not using current UY points.

Claire ;)

Ok - we talked to our guide today and she is still waiting to hear back on what they can do for us, etc. in this whole ordeal. She said she thinks she should hear something tomorrow - lets just hope they can work it out.
