Anyone have iphone on Tmobile?

DS14's phone is dying and my DDIL has an iphone she doesn't use, but we are on Tmobile. We heard that Tmobile will allow iphones on their network. Is this true? Has anyone done it?

Thanks everyone for the lack of responses. That definitely sends my answer over loud and clear. We should either buy a different phone or wait until Tmobile releases the iphone themselves.

Well, I just saw this now.

I have a friend with TMobile and he uses the iPhone. He had it unlocked.

He said that not all the features work, but it's better than not having the iPhone.

I switched from the iPhone with AT&T to the Motorola Droid with Verizon, but more because of AT&T than the iPhone.

I saw something on the news the other day that said the IPhone is going to be on other networks soon, it won't only be AT&T.
I am waiting to get one til this happens.

My DH's cousin has an Iphone and has Tmobile. He had it unlocked. Take it to a cell phone store and see if they can unlock it for you. Good luck

As far as I know, cell carriers will NOT unlock phones for you. You can do it yourself somewhat easily (check online for instructions) but if it's an iPhone 3GS that you're looking at buying, most all of them will have the latest firmware by this point and it hasn't been rendered unlockable yet by the development team. Apple does not want their phones unlockable, so they keep updating the firmware to try to prevent jailbreaking/unlocking. My iPhone is jailbroken but not unlocked and I haven't updated my firmware the last few times updates have been released because I want to keep the jailbreak.

You might check ebay to see how much unlocked phones are selling for (it ain't cheap!); it'll cost a pretty penny, but it would save the trouble of trying to unlock it yourself.
