Anyone have experience renting from Advantage

We have a reservation with Advantage and are wondering if anyone has used them recently. Do they assign a car or can you choose one? Are the cars in decent shape? Any input will be appreciated!

I think since it seems Advantage is not that well known or used on the boards, I might re-think this choice.

I haven't used Advantage either but am sitting on a great rate for our January trip. Advantage is the discount arm of Hertz so I'm not too worried.

Of course I also have my backup Alamo ressie and keep checking to see if that rate will drop. We've loved Alamo and always found low prices in the past. Love picking our car out of the row too.

I heard about Hertz, but then I also heard they have been sold again. So, I'm not sure. We're going in November and Alamo is really expensive for our dates.

I also am wondering about Advantage - they have great rates in January and I was thinking I'd have my DS rent thru them if they are decent. Hope someone can give us a current update on them!

There's an article in the current issue of Budget Travel magazine about the discount car rental companies. They recommend using 'em. Lines may be longer, locations may not be right at the airport - but they make up for it with lower rates.
