Anyone have Erie, PA hotel recommendation??

Looking for something for our first stop on our drive to Virginia and DHHI - we are planning on leaving on a Friday night after work and going as far as Erie, PA - a hotel along I90 would be preferred. Would be nice if it included a breakfast too.

Also looking for 1 hotel about 1/2 way from Hilton Head to Guelph - I'm thinking Washington area seems to be about 1/2 way. Only requirements are that the hotel be clean.

I suggest Googling “hotels on Peach Street in Erie, Pa”. This will show you many choices right off the I90. We stayed here to go to Splash Lagoon. You can actually see some of these hotels from the highway. We stayed at the Comfort Inn which is o.k. Clean but that's about it. They do have a free continental breakfast as do many of the hotels on that strip. From Toronto it’s about a 4 hour drive.

My daughter and I stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham just off Peach Street (on Old Oliver Road) right beside the interstate. Very nice there. The Homewood Suites by Hilton is on the other side of the interstate nearby just off Peach St. (when I say off of Peach St, both hotels are just a few hundred feet from the intersection on little side roads). The Homewood Suites is on Interchange road and very new and nice. Both have free breakfast.
You can either make reservations online, they both have good rates if you pay in advance. If you want to get a really cheap rate somewhere in Erie, just stop at the Welcome Center as you cross into PA and get a coupon book for the hotels. Can usually get from $69-$89 for the night.

I stay at the Red Roof Inn just off the Interstate. A standard 2 full bed room 54.99 for the night or king sized bed with mini fridge ect 59.99 all plus taxes.
No breakfast but head to the golden coral for a breakfast you'll love, $10.00 all you can eat with unlimited refills(yes drinks are extra) or the Old Country buffet both on Peach Street.
As well the casino is right down the street and if you ask at the front desk you can get a coupon for loads of freebies and a discount on the casino buffet.

At the Peach St. exit there are a ton of hotels. There is....Marriot Courtyard, Holiday Inn express, Microtel, Econolodge, Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn plus a few more that I can't remember. There is a Red Roof at one of the exits before Peach.

Peach St is a good place to stop because there are a lot of restaurants and fast food places there as well. There is a Timmies and a Krispy Creme across the street from one another. Plus, there are several strip malls right there too.
