Anyone have any "pregnant after a vasectomy" stories?

I will be thinking of you!

I hope tubals work, I just had one when I had my csec for DS in January. The docs gave me a hard time about it. Did any of yours?

I wanted one after #3. Apparently since its a Catholic hospital I would of had to go thought a bunch of paper word to have it approved??? While pregnant with #4 the Dr asked if I wanted one. I guess 4 was the magic number. Since I was having my 3rd c-section I let hubby have some pain with a Vasectomy,

My sister had her tubes tied at 22. She has 3 kids by than.

Our 3rd son was a surprise baby. We had to do infertility meds and interventions to get the other 2 so we thought a surprise wasn't even possible. Turns out we were wrong. When I went to the doctor and told them I had no idea how far along I was since this was "not so much a surprise but a shock" her words were "you don't know from shock! Last week I delivered a baby to a couple that had both a vasectomy and a tubal and she STILL got pregnant!"

Good luck to you! I hope you get whatever result you are hoping for. :)

I was a BIG suprize. Im the condom and birth controll child. GUess what they both failed!

that's too funny. For my first pregnancy I had a singleton. My second pregnancy was twins. I am afraid to get pregnant again because of the number of jokes about "Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was triplets this time" UM......... NO :scared1:
I had a singleton first also & then the surprise of twins. I also thought if I got pregnant again it would probably be another set of twins.

I'm past the point of wanting anymore & definitely keeping my fingers crossed that no surprises come along for us. Twins was enough surprise!

DH had a vasectomy 9 1/2 years ago and so far so good. He did go for all of the follow-ups. When he had his procedure they clipped a section out of the tubes then burned the ends.

When DH got his they snipped out a section, burned the ends, put in permanent sutures and turned the tubes away from each other. That was 17 years ago and no kids. DH also did the follow-up tests until he got the :thumbsup2 and "Go for it" from the Dr.

I know a family, through friends, and it's a very scary story :lmao:

They had 2 kids and decided to go for a third and then they'd be done.

Surprise! Twins. Now they had 4 kids, instead of three, but they took it in stride. Husband got a V after they found out about the twins (I don't know them well enough to know if he went back for a check up, but I imagine he didn't)

The twins are about 4 months old, and the mom starts feeling kind of weird, but attributes it to all the post-pregancy hormones etc.

Nope, pregnant AGAIN! So now they'll have 5 kids under the age of 6. Except, no, suprise again--twins, AGAIN! 6 kids under six, and they only wanted 3.

She apparently started crying in the ultrasound when she found out about the second set. Can you imagine?

I personally know two -- one was about a month after his V and had #4, a boy.

And another about the same time, baby #4 and a girl.

Our Dr. lectured to keep using our present form of BC until the all clear. They did not even test until after 6 weeks. Even if it was effective there are still swimmering in the tube after the cut that can do the job.

She updated the other thread. It was a negative.

I know two people that had babies after the big V. Well, really only one. One of them was the standard "hubby didnt get checked after". He had actually had the first round of tests done, but about 10 years later he didnt go in for the follow up.

The other was an old coworker. A couple of years after her husband told her he had it done, she came up pregnant. Of course, she thought it just didnt take. She went with him to have it "redone". The new doc could not find any scars from the first time. She also had the wife sign consent papers which was not done the first time. There was never a confession on the husbands part, but all signs point to him to chickening out and not having it done.

That's about what happened to my friend, but her mom was only 40. She thought my friend was a tumor. Funny thing is, she looks a LOT like her older sister. I tried to convince her that her sister is really her mother :confused3 but she didn't believe me. Guess it's normal to look like an older sister, too.

We must have the same friend! I had a friend whose mother was convinced she was a tumor! It was a family joke.:rotfl2:

I know several women who have gotten pregnant....one 5 years after the vasectomy.
