Anyone have any "pregnant after a vasectomy" stories?

My dh had the big V 18 months ago. He went back for this check ups and he was free and clear. Dh also went to the Urologest. That doc made sure dh V would fail. Lets see, Cut a peice of tube off, then burned and clipped them with Titanium clips.

Dh says he has B*lls of Titanium!!:lmao:

Oh God, stop it, stop it, stop it!!!!! I don't want to hear these stories!!!!! :scared1: :sad2: :scared:

We know more people who've had oops than people who haven't. It seems really weird that so many of the V's didn't work. As far as I know, none of the ones who got their wives pregnant after the V went in for the follow up testing.

Why have the V done if you aren't going to go in for the follow up? :confused3

Pregnancy can often "jumpstart" a woman's fertility so even if there were problems before, a subsequent pregancy can happen without help.

Good luck tonight! :)

Dh had one about 6 years ago and went for 1 follow up but not the others, so far so good.

Wow, I didn't realize the chances of failure could be so great. Learn something new every day! :)

I have not heard of anyone getting preggo if the guy did the folow-up tests.

However, if I get pregnate again the UPS man might be blamed so I was sure that DH went to the folow-up:lmao:

Well you'll hear about it now!! LOL!! DH went back for both of his recommended retests. Both were all clear, the 2nd one 6 months after the surgery. I got pregnant 2 years after his V.

My hair stylist had two children after her husband had the procedure. He did not go back for the retest and here comes a baby. Having thought the procedure was done so long ago (but still no retest) Voila! Another child.

Don't know of anyone who got pregnant after the V but do know a couple who did after a tubal.

That scares the crap out of me. :scared1:

I was late this month - although it did arrive - and told DH that I had done my part already and that if another one was on the way he would be heading down for a little snippy snippy.

Sounds like maybe he should go anyway! :rolleyes1

had a friend in college, we were both around 20 when her mom found out that dad's vasectomy from 14 years earlier was'nt as effective as they thought (funny thing was she was convinced that the symptoms were menopause cause she was in her early 40's:rotfl2: ).

DH had his V almost 20 years ago with no problems (and had the follow up), but last fall I got pretty concerned myself. I was pretty sure that it was probably menopause starting (praying desparately ;)), but the idea that it might not be sure had me scared to death. DH thought the whole thing was hilarious (he wouldn't have been laughing if it hadn't been a false alarm though :rolleyes1 ).

Well, DH got his 2 years ago and so far, so good. I was late once and nearly had a heart attack, but it turned out to be nothing.

My DH had his 8 years ago at a Urologists office. It was a 20 min procedure and we have no other children born since. Of course I made double sure and had a hysterectomy too.............so no issue of that for me! LOL

Just delivered a baby of a couple who had vasectomy about 6 years ago....
And yes, it was the father's. His recheck showed swimmers. The Urologist who did the original vas, redid it for 'free'..... hummmm.
Would you trust a redo if it didn't work the first time????:confused3 I wouldn't.

OK, I had a vasectomy..... about 16 months after I had it, I received a "surprise" card in the mail. I opened it up and it said "Boo! Guess who is pregnat again? Me!!!!! "....... Turns out I got that card on April 1st! And at first I didn't get the joke! :rotfl:

Don't know of anyone who got pregnant after the V but do know a couple who did after a tubal. YIKES!

One of my former co-workers also got pregnant after a tubal. Her DD is 21 now. She ended up naming her daughter Dawn because it "Dawned" on her as she was in labor that she really didn't want to have any more kids - 2 was when she wanted to stop, 3 was a surprise and 4 was a shocker. Needless to say she had herself cut, tied & cotorized after that.

Ya know why WE didn't have the follow up done? DH wanted ME to run his sample to the doctor for him! Uh-uhn! Not me! NOPE!

I'm going to assume it took....youngest is 6 and he was a newborn when DH had it done.

And honestly, even if it DIDN'T take, I don't think DH would have it done again. He was given a sedative to relax him before...then the anesthesia didn't take. So he felt it all, but was too blitzed to make the docs UNDERSTAND he was feeling it. :sad2: You don't EVEN want to know what names he has for that doctor! LOL! (In DH's defense, he did say *OW*, but it came out like *Ohhh*. Doc would say "are you OK? Can you feel that?" DH would only answer the "Are you OK" part. So he kept saying NO and doc thought he was saying that no he couldn't feel it. :scared:

Guess now he knows how my stitches and labor felt with the 10 pounder when the anesthesia was worn off and doc didn't believe me. :lmao: (Yes, I know...shame on me! LOL! :rolleyes1 )
