Anyone have a Lenovo Idea Pad Netbook?

I'm looking for a netbook for my DD who will be going to high school next year. I have an Acer Aspire One, which I love, but I am considering the Lenovo Idea Pad for her. Tiger Direct has a really cute one.

My DH won one at his office Christmas party. It's a great little machine, however if this is for your DD who is going into high school, I'm not sure an idea pad is what you want. You cannot load any software on it, as it doesn't have any type of disc drive (mine doesn't). Also it's a small screen and if she's going to be using it for researching/surfing the internet, this could be straining on the eyes. I don't believe you can hook a printer to it either.
My DD will be going into high school next year and will be receiving a regular
laptop for graduation from 8th grade. The idea pad is great for just surfing the net, or for travel, IMO.

I may be wrong on the printing feature, but I don't know how you would load the printer software onto the computer. I don't use the idea pad, so maybe others can comment.

I have a lenovo and after just looking at it - it says ideapad....

My DH is a IT manager and he bought me this a few Christmas ago when Circuit City was going out of business in our area.

My ideapad has DVD/CD drive and I can load software....Also mine has 3 or 4 USB ports so I can certainly hook up a printer or other accessories.

I mostly use my laptop to access websites, email and games. I do of course use Word, Excel etc. I keep my household budget on Excel and various documents on Word.

I think it would be a great choice for your child going off to school.

I know this one doesn't have a cd drive (my Aspire doesn't either) but you can buy an external drive that hooks up to your usb port. I'm buying one anyway for my Aspire.

I have a wireless printer and I went to the HP website and loaded the software for it on my current netbook and it works great. You might want to try that with yours.

I've just heard bad things in the past about the Thinkpads but was wondering if these are better.
