YOU want him to have rock hard abs??? VERY sad..... :stir: I want my husband to be kind, to be gentle, to honor our vows, to be respectful, to help me and show his love for me and for our children - I give him the same in return. How he looks is of no concern to me at all and how I look is of no concern to him at all. We love each other for who we are - not how hard or flabby our bellies may be

why did you even post this? it has nothing to do with the op. we arent talking about the other things that a person can look for in a husband. i dont recall the op saying it affected how they love eachother. you should just edit your post to basically say nothing, because it adds nothing to the thread the way it is now anyway.

But don't you know that's how things are done here?

My exBF used to say "Why carry around a 6-pack when you can have a beer ball?"

Flip side...I have a friend who just turned 40 who has at least a 6, if not an 8-pack. He's insane with his amount of diet and exercise though.

I will not edit my post. :lmao: I am allowed - just like you are - to post my opinions..

You know,it would have been much funnier if you made us click the post to see the last word in that sentence

If I ever have one I'll think about expecting him to.

Dh is only 34 and his stomach is rock hard. I'm sure it will be that way when he is 40, too.

He's a triathlete and has no body fat that I can see.

He's got a better tummy and better legs than I do. I'm proud of him for the way he looks. I'd love him no matter what but I'm glad he works so hard to stay in shape and eats healthy.

Dh is also a triathlete. He bikes, swims and runs daily. He's pretty darned rock hard and hasn't always been that way. He's even hard headed! LOL

I have better abs than DH. He has a cute little Budda belly. He's not overweight it's just his build. He's got great legs and arms though.

Wait, we can't want our DH's to be kind, gentle, honorable, respectful and smoking hot too? :confused3

DH is 50, works in a swimsuit or dive suit and looks goooooood. His legs and arms are awesome too. He's my GI Joe.

DH had a beer belly. He decided before he turned 40 that it had to go. Now he has a 6 pack. Truthfully I preferred the beer belly. His 6 pack came with too many diet/exercise tips directed at me.

My husband use to be thin when we were younger but now has a big belly. He works at a desk job and tells me that no one in his office doing a job that involves sitting all day over 40 is going to have a flat stomach. He says that is just where the weight of middle aged men goes.

He has made some effort at stomach exercises but that has done nothing to his tummy. He does not drink many soft drinks or beer. He wants to let nature take its course and have a belly, I want him to have a hard rock ab, like on TV. Is it really possible to be middle age and still have flat abs?

I don't know....... :lmao:
My husband worked for 20 years NOT behind a desk but for NYPD and his tummy is almost its own person :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm 39, 5'6" and try to stay in the 125 range and sit behind a desk 3 days a week, use to be 5 days a week up until last February when my husband retired from the police department. So, I know it can be done as a woman (although I didn't/don't have a rock tummy), it just takes exercise and watching what you eat AND drink.

But, that line made me laugh. Your husband says it can't be done sitting behind a desk and mine always said it coudn't be done working 4-12 am. LOL
It can be done if you want it too but it does get harder.
No one is perfect and if I have to find ANY flaw in my husband it is just his tummy so I try not to let it bother me too much since he really does help out and do everything else for us.

DH is a few months from 40 and is pretty close to rock hard. :teeth: No desk job though, he throws tires (for work/car shows) by the truck load and does over an hour of exercising a day after working over 50 plus hours a week.

Maybe he could get in shape while learning how to change a tire. :cool1:

my dh turning 51 on oct 1 , is still the same as when i married him,
his id picture never changes, nor his body ...hmmmm how does he do it?

Mine is 41 and he's very muscular - he just has a layer of flesh over parts of him that obscure the muscles a little bit. His legs are very defined, but his trunk area looks a bit soft, though it really isn't underneath. At least he doesn't have a beer belly that sticks way out - it's just a very small pouch and slight handles at the waist.
