Anyone hate HoopDeDoo? Appreciate good and bad feedback

Another vote for YES...we loved the Hoop De Doo and thought it was a hoot and a half!! My kids loved it too (they were 3 and 7 at the time) but we saw plenty of adults of all ages there w/o kids. The food was OK...nothing of the gourmet variety, but if you are prepared for it, you'll be fine. It's nice to have the drinks (alcoholic!) included. Basically, you're paying for the show, which in my opinion, is entertaining enough to justify the price.

Have fun!!

But not this time:(

I love the Hoop De Doo when we last saw it our kids DS12 and DD 10 at the time really enjoyed the show.

The food is okay but last time was not served hot, had a co-worker go on my recommendation last year and he felt ripped off. He enjoyed the show but he said even the baked beans were served at room temperture and were pretty yucky.

Think of the show as Disney meets HeeHaw and you will get the humor level.
I personally really enjoy it and if I can work it inot my plans in January I am going again. I do not go for the food but for the Classic Disney Show. This is as much a Disney Classic as BTMRR, or Dumbo IMHO

My husband and I hated it. The food was not good and the show was not funny at all. We left in the middle of the show because we thought it was that bad and we couldn't stand sitting there any longer. I'm in my 20s and he is in early 30s but he was in his 20s too at the time. We don't have any kids yet and we both love Disney. I've been to western shows in some of the western states and thought they were good so it's not that I can't appreciate it. My husband had wanted to go this show since he was little.

Also, a group of family/friends went to it and everyone in the group got really sick.

everyone we have talked to that has been has the same feelings (maybe we are friends with a charmed group!). The price may seem a bit high but when you figure that it covers the cost of unlimited food, drinks (unlimited wine, beer and soda), tip and the cost of entertainment, it is really not the bad. Yes, the show is corny but it is suppossed to be! It is a great show for families but I know of a number of honeymooners that have attended and loved it too. You probably need the right mood and attitude to enjoy it to its fullest.

So......put us down for another "LOVE IT" vote for the Hoop!

My family does the HDD every trip! My sister just went for her DD's 30th birthday and the party of 6 was all adults. Everyone loved it. My neice's husband has named this his favorite food spot as he LOVES the ribs. I feel the food is good not great but the show is lots of fun!

You mentioned the BBQ: I have done this with children and they loved it. There are many more children there than at the HDD and it is mostly line dancing and character interaction.

We love the Hoop Dee Doo show. The food is wonderful and makes for a hearty meal. We thought the show was lots of fun and we laughed through the whole thing. My husband got to be in the show, although he was not the angel! We consider it a terrific value when you factor in all the delicious food you want, all the alcohol you care to drink, and a great show! I would recommend it wholeheartedly for anyone of any age who loves Disney and likes "down home" cooking, although I would recommend you book about a year ahead of time if you have that much time before your trip. It will get you a seat up close to the stage, which in my opinion is the best place to take in the show.

As for the Backyard B-B-Q, my husband and I went to this in May and were very underwhelmed. In fact, we left in the middle of the show. The food was just OK, it was outside so you had to contend with hot weather and insects and there were a million kids trying to see the characters without any organization at all. Now don't get me wrong, I love kids and I think they should see the characters at Disney. But when you have them swarmed around the characters en masse on the dance floor, it is hard to enjoy the dancing (I gave up after one dance, I was too afraid of stepping on a little person). Glad we did it, just don't care to do it again.

So, my vote is - GO TRY HOOP DEE DOO!!! You'll be glad you did!

If money is of no concern I think you should do it at least once. Show is corny but funny. The food and drink are average. But this is not a show that I would spend money on every trip. Too many other choices.

After two seperate attempts to enjoy the Hoopde do...I find that it is a Hoop dee DON'T!!! I just don't care for cold fried chicken. Behond that, it just isn't fun for me.

This is just my opinion, and I'm sure I'll get some hate mail for it, but I tried, I really tried! If others enjoy it more power too 'em. You just won't find me there ever again.

My last trip to Disney we were unable to get a reservation to Hoop. It is the first time we were unable to go in 15 years. It was missed.

As for the money, the ? $50/person is cheap compared to going to a show in Boston - and they don't feed us!!! The last show we went to this past summer - Lion King - we paid $125/ticket - we dressed for a Saturday night at the theatre - there were people there in shorts and flip flops???

Hoop is a great show. We love the food - it's something we never would eat at home. You will laugh out loud.
