Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

It's funny how popular it is at DHS and the length of the lines compared to DCA. I guess it's a measure of how few headline rides there are at DHS.

I saw the lights being put up and wished I could see them all lit up. Maybe someday.

Don't forget that DCA doesn't have a FP system like DHS does which would back up the stand-by queue even longer. I thought that it would be great to have a FP system for DCA but it made more sense not to have it or the queue at DCA would be even longer. There are still a lot of fun rides at DHS but just as you said that there are few rides.

That was neat that the lights were being put up during your trip. Back during my 2012 trip in Oct/Nov, the lights were almost up for the Christmas season. The Osborne Family lights are amazing and you will like it a lot. You should consider a trip during the Christmas season one day.

The IJ Epic Stunt Spectacular is a very nice show and all of your pictures are very nice. Did you and your family were watching it up close in the seating area?

Nice update.

Awesome that this inspired DS to watch the movies! Those are on my favorites list.

Caught up again now that I can see with both eyes.:rotfl2:

Love the family pics going into HS and the commentary comparing IJ and SW was cracking me up.:lmao:

I also believe Han Solo and Indiana Jones are the same person! What a career and a hunk of man. *swoon*

We've only seen the beginning of IJ. We got weathered out; lightening. Can you imagine canceling to want to keep CMs safe? ;)

MDE? :faint: And FP+? I can't even think about it.

Love the DHS pics, especially the one holding the frame. It's a keeper.

Cute Cape May meet pics too. I still haven't been there.

I also want to address something skier-Pete said. I long ago realized there would always be someone posting better pictures than me, but no one can post my pictures. It is the personal connection that makes it still worthwhile no matter what quality you are shooting. (Also noted in woodcarving, writing, blogging, video, cabinet-making, etc, etc, etc...)

:)

Yes that's what I think too so I refuse to think about how great others pics are (whilst trying to still improve on our own) and snap merrily away to capture the moments that were important at the time for us...and the same goes yes, for my mosaic work (I am so proud of my gecko I made), DH timber work, etc etc. Creativity is good for the soul!

I love how you compare Indiana Jones to Star Wars :rotfl:

I'm personally not a big Star Wars fan *ducking for cover* but quite enjoy Indy :thumbsup2

Happy May the Fourth be with you day too :thumbsup2 As I'm sitting here I'm thinking I must have seen that show 100s of times since the park first opened But through your eyes and commentary ( hysterical as usual ) I see it for the first time Hey I'm a believer too :thumbsup2

Thanks Ruthie. I believe. :thumbsup2

I've never seen the IJ stunt show. It looks pretty entertaining.

They don't give you options like that on MDE anymore. Looks like the test period was better.

Really? Perhaps you might find time to check it out at the end of the month.

I hope that Disney decide on what they want to implement with MDE at some stage.

Happy May For(ce)th! It's my "baby's" 21st birthday today!

Since the team I work with in MS is the Force, we wanted to do something Star Wars after the state testing, but the principal said no.:confused3

Happy Belated birthday to your DS!!!

What a shame the principal is a Sith!

Thanks Bret. We were sitting in the section on stage left but right along the inner aisle. Our seats were about 5 or 7 rows away from the front.

IJ movies are on my favourite list as well. This trip also inspired DS to watch all the Star Wars as well.

The 'eyes' have it. Glad they are feeling better.

Thanks.

A true believer!!

What a shame IJ got cancelled. Maybe you'll get to see the whole thing next time you're there.

Thanks.

Brilliant pics of course. I love enjoying all your photos.

Thanks Wendy!

You're not a Star Wars fan?? What about your DH?

:scratchin We're going to have to do something about this.....:)

I think most of you know that I attribute everything I've learnt about photography to the Dis.

We bought a camera in 2010....for DH to use in our May 2010 trip. When we came home, the camera sat in the bag for over 6 weeks. It was a pretty expensive toy to just be sitting there gathering dust.

And then I found the Scavenger Photography hunt on the photo subforum on the Dis. I think I found it because Ruthie was posting pictures on it. And there was no pre-requisite to be able to take great pictures; as long as you got a picture of the item, you could post. I figured that it was a great/fun way for me to get out and about.

So I picked the camera up....and after about 2 weeks, I found that I LOVED being able to take the items on the list and I found it to be a great creative outlet for me.

For those of you that didn't know me then......let me share with you my first ever shot that I took and posted.

Birds Feeding

Then.....I was quite proud of that shot....and my ability to press a button. :cheer2:

And I won't even apologize for the picture size. Believe it or not, I was the shy, retiring type then.....and that was about the size of pictures I was sharing. :rotfl:

All I did from this point on was keep pressing buttons and snapping merrily away. And I asked questions of the other photographers on the Dis and learnt what I liked to see from them.
There are a ton of better photographers on the Dis and in the world than me. But I enjoy taking pictures and they represent snapshots of my memories and stories to me.

:scratchin We're going to have to do something about this.....:)

You don't want to know about DH :lmao: He is much worse than me and refuses to watch anything remotely sci-fi. He won't even watch Red Dwarf!

I PROUDLY will take credit for the photographer you have become Honestly it doesn't seem like that long ago when you did timidly put your toes into the area of Dis pictures I remember it well & it has brought more people than you know much joy

Along with my kids and their achievements in life I will puff up my chest in pride with the knowledge that I had a teeny part in pushing/encouraging all of you Fly seagull fly ! ( which is still after all of your posts my favorite of all time )

We love the Indiana Jones stunt show! DW and I have both participated in the show, which is a lot of fun as well. I don't really ever get sick of this one.

Did you ever see the IJSS/Star Wars mash-up they did a couple years back. It was for some sort of Star Wars celebration (Not SW Weekends, but perhaps when ST2.0 opened.) They mashed up the Star Wars characters into the Indiana Jones stunt show. The funniest part was everyone kept calling Indy "Han " and he kept saying "I don't know who that is." You can find it out there on youtube. Can't look it up to give you a direct link, though since I'm at work. I thought sure they would make it a regular thing during SWW, but they never did.

Sneaking back in for another look at your great pictures. You Indy pics are amazing but that airplane mechanic is the smallest guy I have ever seen playing that role. :lmao:

I just thought I would pop in over here to say that I will now be participating in the "Photo Babble". Yesterday after becoming wildly frustrated with being unable to take pre-dawn pictures, I came back to the room and read the manual of the camera. I know, I know, that's against the rules. It didn't take much once I learned how to adjust the ISO, F-stop and shutter speed.

This morning as I took my sunrise pictures, they first came out completely white, so after adjustment, less white, adjustment, some images, and more adjustment, I settled in on the right settings. Then I moved to another subject. Complete readjustment. Now I'm doing this like a fiend, checking every shot, adjusting, taking another. So now I'm officially crazy.

It's like riding a bike or playing an instrument. It all comes back to you pretty quickly.

Mmmm, Han Solo. Mmmm, Indy Jones. I love them both but Han is my favorite. I do love a bad boy with a heart of gold. ;)

Well stated!:thumbsup2

Mmm CMC has the best breakfast! It will probably be a while till we go back, as DH doesn't like spending money on breakfast (:rolleyes2) and would rather spend money on lunch or dinner. That's too bad they couldn't make a table for all of you guys!

I have never seen the Indy stunt show and with your commentary, i'll never need to! :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Just want to post and say I'm still with ya!! Just caught up on this latest installment. Life's getting busy as my own trip approaches! :cool1:

p.s. I love how you literally tell the story with your pics!
